Announcement from IU Coming Soon

You’re missing the point. It’s time to look to the future and handle the rest of the season with class. I was ready for the change too. It’s just time to root for IU basketball going forward.
Cheerlead to your heart’s content. Fine by me. Letting Mullins go and mcneeley and sh!t bombing this roster is damn near criminal.

Hope he wins out. Hope the team rally’s and figures out how to not get blown out in the first 5 minutes of a game.

Hope we start playing with some fire.

Hope he wins the BTT and we’re a 5 seed with a 12 game winning streak.

Hope he goes to the final four.

Get it Woody!

But that’s not gonna happen because he’s a horrible horrible coach that cost us major future big time recruits, in his own backyard. Then… sh!t canned the most talented roster in the BIG, while being forced out with 8 games to go.

Good questions...I suspect, if Dolson can get this next hire right... 5 years from now, we'll look back at the Woodson years and associate it with TJD, and him helping put some closure on the RMK ghosts. Obviously most of us won't forget the crap basketball, and the ego stuff, but it'll largely be forgiven when/if we get someone good and the program moves forward and becomes relevant again.

Maybe not though? I've personally already softened my view of him, as an example.
Nah… I’ll associate him with losing Mullins, Harelson and Mcneeley and staying a year too long with Dusty May right there for the taking. Woodson was gifted TJD. Closure on RMK didn’t win a game.

I'm now much more excited to watch the game tomorrow. And I now actively want IU to win every one of their remaining games. I'm sure he'll still get some boos, depending on how the team plays. But if we play well, there will be some renewed energy in the building. I bet the students show up in full force tomorrow.
Don Fishers pre game is now must-listen radio.

Funny how polite Dolson can be after taking Woody (and Quinn) to the woodshed. These past few days have been a downright ass beating by Dolson and crew. Now if he can find the basketball version of Cig, they ought to put a statue of him somewhere on the athletic campus.

May is far from a proven commodity. He might have "saved" us from Tom Crean 2.0.
Tom Crean isn’t from Greene County and was never a student manager for RMK and didn’t have his first year in the BIG competing for a BIG title. There’s basically no resemblance to Crean other than going to a final four at a no name school with no name players. Crean was at Marquette with Dwayne Wade. Don’t get any Crean comparisons at all.

I got a better chance of winning the power ball. He is a really bad coach. Sure they may play a little harder but he will still likely lose by 25 in East Lansing.

Dolson needs to get this right and money is not an excuse cause it sounds like their will be plenty. The next hire imo can have nothing to do with old IU players or have any ties to IU boosters, etc. We need a clean break.

In what ways was he better than average considering he was basically catastrophic?

Harelson
Mullins
Mcneeley

The use of Ballo

6 million dollar roster

Xavier Johnson

Dismissing D Fife, Thad Matta.

Dusty May right there for the taking.

Miami running over us in the tournament

The blowouts

Down 40 to Louisville and their new coach 5 or so games into the season

Picked to finish 2nd in the BIG this year and being forced out with 8 games to go.

The Maryland fire drill.

He was basically the worst hire on any conceivable notion. So bad that we can all agree no matter who we hire next will be better.
"worst hire" quite the exaggeration, plenty worse options. "no matter who we hire next will be better", this has been said each of the last 4 hires. Getting to be a standard around here saying around here. Hope were not hearing it again next year.

In thinking about May, I see him being more of a modern Bill Self. Coach successfully at a Big Ten school for two years then take a big job after next year and be there forever. Maybe UNC.

I'll be fine moving forward with Woody. Buckner and Wittman, especially Buckner, I'll remember a little differently moving forward.

lol.
Lose 25 to Nebraska in the BTT.
Lose by 25 to Iowa
Lose by 30 to Illinois at home
Lose recruits galore
Best win this season is an exhibition game against Tennessee
Steamrolled by Miami in the tournament
Goes on and on…
Worst hire yet. How bout that? Is that better.

I honestly can't figure out what it is you are attempting to say in that last 2 sentences.

Looks like he is coaching out the rest of the season. I hope IU fans treat the situation with class. He has rubbed some people wrong but fans can still show class and be the best possible fans for the rest of the year...while praying for the right leader going forward. Woody wasn't the perfect fit for the program but he was better than average in some ways too.
Screw Woodson

Not saying that’s the wrong approach, but it does describe all the post-Davis hires before Woody.
