Brown should not be allowed back into the game till he can prove that he can turn his head and look back for the ball. When the receiver has turned his back to his endzone and is setting up to catch the ball and you do not bother to do anything other then run into him and fall down, you dont belong on a football field.

sure they should go over it in depth in film session, but not allowed on the field again? C'mob, he's an athlete, freshman and will continue to improve.

How do you know that's what the coaching staff is teaching him, at this stage of his development?

Kids don't come to IU because they're entirely complete football players already, they have to be taught techniques in layers, not everything all at once. Might be that Brown is a kid with excellent raw talent, with good speed, good closing speed, willingness to hit, good hip turn and the like, but just hasn't had to have the discipline to stick with an opponent of near-equal talents before. That's the kind of kid you teach to stay with his man, first and above all else, and then when that becomes a habit you layer on an additional technique like turning his head for the ball.

I will say that it seems that when our DBs make freshmen mistakes, they generally come back and make a play later on in the game that counts for something.

Folks, I remember the Lynch era with 15 yard cushions and soft coverage.....and this is sooooo refreshing despite getting burned at times.

All articles had Wilson saying "they may get burned and I told DB coach not to get mad, but what will they do next play. Saw that last week when FR made hit on 2 pt conversion attempt at end of game and last night when dB who got burned earlier, ran one back 96 yds. Mistakes happen for lonely DB's on an island. These guys are better athletes than we've had and pretty bold, think they should be out there. Have to believe they will improve weekly and into the future. Fant missed a few tackles but 4 individual break ups and good coverage. Tegray coming back at LB next week will only help the cause too...he should be wanting to make up for his 2 game suspension, will help DB's too.

You have got to be kidding. It was his 2nd game. Give the kid a break, he has talent. He made some nice plays for us. He needs game time to get experience. Maybe you would prefer Padmore?
