i was impressed with how hard these 3 played, especially Andetson’s effort to rebound and play defense the last 4 minutes. Bravo guys for at least playing hard like it matters to you.

Smith's ass would be on the bench. Not going to stay with the defense you're taught, sit you ass down.
All 3 guys played hard. they're just not ready for this level of play, and it showed tonight. But if we're going to lose, I'd rather play guys who will give me the effort I want and will attempt to play defense than a guy like Smith who gives half-assed effort. Beyond tired of him - and his twitter-bitching ole man.
yeah because hustle equals wins. You still have to make wide open shots,but I agree with Anderson the last four minutes was great just wished the players didn't miss those wide open shots he single handedly got for us in a 30 second span.
Im sorry but when did Smith not play defense. His man caught the ball down low and he played him straight up. Just stfu about Smith and complain about other stuff because it's getting old. Once again the blame Smith for everything posts come out. Yeahn it was Smith who missed all those layups and wide open three's, I see Smith is a ball hog and put up all those shots himself. I don't know what the **** you idiots are watching when you watch a game, but made you need to get a new television and throw away the ancient tube television.

Those guys played hard, but there are terrible. Anderson plays defense like his feet are in cement. I haven't looked, but he's probably shooting 25% on FGs for the year. Moore & Forrester were overwhelmed on the boards and clueless on offense.
Together, in 34 minutes they took 3 shots (0-3), had 2 points(on FTs), 6 rebounds, 1 TO, and 5 PFs.
Throw in Fitz, and the #s are: 43M, 0-5, 2 points, 7 rebs, 1 TO, 5 PFs.
Although I'm as sick as anyone of watching the lack of effort by Smith & Romeo, watching these guys is no bargain.
Smith doesn't stay in position on defense - he comes to help when it's not necessary, which kills the effectiveness of the pack line. If you don't see that, I can't help you.
I like that Anderson got to play some, but he is terrible on defense. Out of position, or chasing his guy out on the perimeter too far, rising up out of his stance, and then getting blown by for layups.
He definitely needs the experience , but he has a ways to go before he is ready. I think he can get there but he has some work to do.

What's scary about Anderson's defense on the ball is that it doesn't appear to be from lack of effort.
I don't get it.....it's not brain surgery.......stay low, keep your balance, move your feet. How can the guy have played basketball this long and not know these things?

Just like Morgan and the others do. I do think they said something about Morgan coming to help Smith when he had good position and it ended up with Morgans man getting a dunk or layup. I guess all the other players on this team play great defense. I watch every game and it's the same shit show where the guards let their man drive by them, or the forwards let their man catch the ball down to low. I understand Smith needs work but don't act like the others don't and put this teams problems on Smith or Green.
Arguably, Archie's biggest mistake of the season was not giving these guys some real minutes back when we were playing all those pre-big ten pud games. Maybe if he had they wouldn't all have that deer in headlights look they wear right now.
I told my wife that I was so happy we won the game at Penn State because we paid money to watch the team play. If I had to watch this team now I might think the money was wasted.

Should be, but it hasn't been. One of the most frustrating things for me about Smith. How can such a great athlete constantly be the slowest guy down the court?
It's maddening........why would somebody even want to play half-ass in a college basketball game? Either for the team/other players, or to look better yourself?
