America is Healing ❤️‍🩹

We will see in a few years if the trust you put in a couple of billionaires is warranted. And before people pile on that I am just jealous, that is not the case. I've been more fortunate financially than I probably deserve.

But have a feeling this won't end great for many of his supporters. Especially those financially at risk.
What do we have to lose? Biden was a disaster and Harris would have been worse. Trump and Musk are by no means perfect but they bring innovation and a way of thinking that is refreshing in many ways. We went from basically no president to a very active one.

Biden was a highly ineffective president due to a combination of age and some of his core beliefs. But if you look at how the US did coming out of COVID, things really were not as bad as many say. Inflation was certainly a negative, but from a jobs and stock market standpoint things were great. We got our soft landing.

As bad as no president is, never underestimate how much damage an over active one can do. None of us know for sure where this ends. This will take a couple years to play out and I hope I'm wrong.

Agree there are state laws, etc. but with indirect lending crossing state lines it would make sense to have federal guidelines/enforcement driving at least consistency of regulation.
We had federal legislation in this area since the 6O’s . Truth in Lending and federal consumer protection laws deal with the same subject. Under this authority, the feds protect consumers from all kinds of federal lending and credit card abuses. Why did we need yet another agency? If tweeks were needed, we should do it under the existing financial protection apparatus.

Jobs who knows. Gov job expansion. Job reports that were always fckd up. Plus Covid bounce. Gave away so much progressive cheese gave rise to a 40 year inflation spike. Opened the border. Worst president of my lifetime. And a jackoff. Insulated his rotten family on the way out. When he croaks no one should bat an eye. Good riddance

Biden’s problem is not age. He has always been mediocre at best and then he became demented.

Is it anything a POTUS couldn’t do on his own? After all, everybody in the executive branch serves at the pleasure of POTUS - whether they’ve gone through Senate confirmation or not.

The executive’s power is limited both by the Constitution and by statute. That was the same on January 19th as it is today. And what’s going on now is tantamount to de facto impoundment where the executive has some statutory latitude.

At the end of the day, I just want to see somebody make a good faith effort to get our costs down. And I have zero faith in Congress to ever do that.

They’re the quintessential committee. And a camel is a horse designed by a committee.

I’m just playing devils advocate a bit here. Just be prepared for “Special Government Employee” to be a thing which will have its power limited in the not too distant future.

Also, arguably, a camel is a better version of a horse.

WASHINGTON, Feb 7 (Reuters) - The U.S. economy created 598,000 fewer jobs in the 12 months through March than previously estimated, the Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) said on Friday.
The final nonfarm payrolls benchmark revision was less than the 818,000 reduction the BLS estimated in August. The numbers are not seasonally adjusted.
Economists had expected the level of employment over the 12-month period would be reduced by about 668,000 jobs following updates to the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages data for the first quarter from which the BLS based the payrolls benchmark revision.

The gov was an absolute disaster under mushy peas and his band of misfits. Let Musk cook. See what comes of it. Roll the dice

You are putting a lot of faith in rolling the dice with Trump, Musk, Kennedy, etc. Your faith may be right, but it is far but certain. This could get bad real quick.

I will bow out now on this particular discussion as I know minds never change on this board. Thanks to you and Crazy for the civility.

C'mon. Let me have some fun!

I agree on the financial shit. I'm just saying the executive branch as you described works great right up until it doesn't which is usually when the OTHER SIDE wins.

Again, I'm on team Let Elon Cook for a minute but that dog better heel when told. Will he? Go beyond the financial and think about what some Special Government Employees could get up to.
Every time I read this argument, PUB's you better be careful or the next dem is going to go berserk!
WELL..... Here we are anyway. This is a total none starter game plan for me. Almost... ALMOST as bad a a woodsen coached team.

Yeah I don’t think for a second their success is a certainty. Definitely rollin the dice here

Trump is going to pressure the courts to restrict the power of the executive.

That might end up his greatest achievement.

Hm. I don’t think I can know what “success” means. But I’m pretty confident that Trump will improve many different parts of government and public policy even if he doesn’t fully achieve his agenda.

I couldn’t understand anything Kendrick Lamar said, so I don’t think Drake should be as embarrassed as Lamar. That was a boring and terrible half time show. WNBA game worthy.

See he’s CERTAIN the largest frauds ever perpetrated on the American people are those of Medicare/caid, SS, disability, and welfare. Huh. No Dept of Defnse mention. Couldn’t be because the new Sec Def said he wants to spend even more money.

No fraud there. Just poor people programs. No ideologically driven narrative pushing by our finest Special Government Employee. Not a chance.

We’re getting rid of Woodson and going to hire someone new to unify us. And messiah is renegotiating his contract for a loan to the blaugrana to remedy that mistake and to unify Catalans once again

A few musings on this...

- There is WFA at DoD. How much? Who knows? Hell, they can't even properly account for their legitimate expenditures. But even Trump himself mentioned DoD a few days ago.

- And I'm sure there's also no shortage of WFA in our entitlement programs. And I'm also sure that a lot of that isn't being perpetrated by poor people. Again....how much? Who knows?

- The federal government does, of course, have a smattering of auditing offices to police this. And I take it at face value that they do their jobs earnestly. However, I'm sure they could benefit from fresh perspectives and methods.

- I'm 100% for doing all that we reasonably can to weed out WFA -- be it at DoD, one of the entitlement programs, or elsewhere. But it's not the fraud that's bankrupting us.

One of my best friends dad was a supervisor for the city of Fort Wayne road crews. They'd have to replace the Harry Baals road sign every couple weeks for a while, so they just stopped putting it up for a while.

My friend had one in his room. 🤣
