Alabama is mad.

Some of these bizarre posts around the net have to be just made up trolls and no idiot really said them, right?

Hey, I hope there's some sort of protection to help continuity too. But I can't see how it'll work.

And if some sort of 'salary cap' is imposed, it'll just be back to the Alabamas and Ohio States just breaking the rules and paying under the table like how they used to dominate in the past. Guess they don't like it being in the open.

Yea, it will go under the table.

That said, an NIL cap would be fine. Helps us.

Number 1, if IU could have held on to several of Alabama's coaches (i.e. had unlimited resources to "buy" them, we probably wouldn't had had to rely on transfers as much.

Number 2, without knowing anything I guarantee Alabama's payroll is significant higher than IU's is this year.

What an idiot.

Mad because Rourke and Cig didn’t end up at an SEC school.
Never seen so many pissed off people because an ‘outsider’ is interfering with the yearly SEC lovefest.
Not likely to happen but i would love to see Oklahoma beat Bama this weekend.

Such a wild remark by a clown. It's not a statement from someone that is living in the current environment so he's just being a blow-hard.

Alabama could've offered some of these guys and I bet some likely would've even gone there. Money is a big factor (mind you, one IU doesn't hold an advantage in) but another factor is the staff, fans, facilities, history, gameday environment, title contention, national exposure....the list goes on and on. To sit there with a straight face and say IU is using some sort of advantage that EVERY other P5 school is either equal to or above, aside from coaching, is BS!

Furthermore, it's that kind of loser mentality why he is no longer relevant.

Does he have any issue with Alabama poaching coaches from Washington and South Alabama?

Agree something needs to be done about the transfers every year but he's just upset the playing field has been levered and no longer completely slanted towards Alabama.

There are already laws in place for people who break or violate contracts in every state of the union.

As far as IU buying a team, somebody should check his shoes.

Hey Tommy, didn't Alabama hire a new Coach Who Coached Washington to the Championship Game? And wasn't He under contract to Washington, so in addition to paying Him under the contract You negotiated with Him, You paid Washington to get Him out of his Contract buyout? And You probably paid 5 times more to secure Your Coach than the total amount Of NIL Funds Indiana has available.
So Tommy, sit down, shut up, and quit complaining about others and the way They conduct business. There is a reason You have been out of the Major College Coaching Business for the last 10 Years.

This reminds me of basketball years ago when Gonzaga first started getting a bid to the NCAA tournament each year. The fans from major conferences complained every year because the Zags played such a weak schedule. Then, Gonzaga began kicking butts in the tournament every year and the complaining stopped. The Hoosiers can put an end to the whining when they begin winning games against the good ole boys . . . starting with OSU on Saturday. By the way, some spoiled Hoosier fans thought the same of St. Mary's not too long ago until they disposed of IU quickly in the tournament.

Lmao. Yo Tommy we have like 20-30% of the NIL of big programs.

Pre-NIL Bama and the other big programs paid players. Right now Texas lines up Lambos for recruiting visits. And our collection of productive 3*'s is a problem? Hahaha.
Like Alabama and auburn hasn't been doing that for decades, under the table? Cmon Tommy give me a break.

I was just going to post this.

He's got absolutely no room to talk about us buying a team when he left in the middle of a recruiting visit at a recruits home to take another job.

And I'd also like to point out we were picked to finish 17th this year, out of 18 teams. Where was all this, Indiana bought their team before the season started?

It's a bunch of bs! Recently, I spoke with two different Nebraska Alums in two different cities. When I mentioned that I went to IU & was an IU fb fan, both reacted the same way by saying IU bought this year's fb team. I would think Nebraska's NIL payroll would be higher than IUs? However, I have no idea if IU or Nebraska out spend the other?

Ha. Their NIL is probably double ours or something like that.

Do those people think those Nebraska players are playing for free?

We have good NIL, but Nebraska is above us.

With that being said, since Nebraska has more money then we have, they sure aren't spending it very well. Goes to show how well our program is being run.

To the extent that IU “bought” a team, Rourke and Sarratt were moneyball picks that likely weren’t considered by traditionally elite schools unless for a second string role. The rest of IUs pickups likely weren’t considered at all. Hell, even IU fans had reservations about IUs talent being anything more than marginal bowl caliber until several games INTO THE SEASON.

This is pretty much what I figured. Therefore, IU fb's getting more bang for their buck then Nebraska is. So much of these schools & their entitled fb fans complaining about IUs season since the Hoosier had such little success in their history, it's all sour grapes as far as I'm concerned.

I think the general rule is that the top 5 or so players on big money teams will probably eat up most of the difference between them and a team like IU. It’s a disadvantage, but by and large most teams won’t actually capitalize on it

Yep. We just spent our money better and coached the players better.

Kinda funny to see people complain about us, and I know many don’t. If what was happening at IU happened at say Wake Forest, I would think it’s pretty cool.
