Get off my lawn
Watching him play on what will be the Big East champs tonight and just thinking why he chose to leave IU. I got caught up in the faux Bradmania at the time and didn’t really pay attention. Not sure how’d he fit with this yr’s IU squad but he made his decision around the time CAM got the boot so doubt he ever sat down and talked with future CMW. Kinda sucks that his last memory wearing an IU uniform was getting booed off the court.

It was academic. He’s also worse in every category except free throw shooting. We need to stop with the “what ifs”. Let sleeping dogs lye.

I have never seen a player fall on the ground after every attempted layup land on the ground and sliding on his back like AD. He perfected that play. If we went up to the rim, you could bank on him winding up on the floor.

Verdell Jones says “Hold my beer.”
Verdell was actually good at scoring the ball when he got it in mid range. His problem was turning the ball over. Every time he dribbled I would clench my teeth. One of my proudest moments of his was when he was dribbling and passed the ball off to Watford without turning it over, for the SHOT against UK.

Yes, I remember he was confronted before the mid court line and could have easily gotten hung up and lost the ball then. I'm surprised Watford was left so wide open. The Kentucky defender was slow to react and should have been between Verdell and Watford, not allowing the easy pass. The rest is history with a heartwarming story for IU fans.

Wasn’t really thinking about “what if’s”. His move was probably for the best and worked out well for him. Probably just needed a fresh start. Wasn’t enjoying a lot of success in Bloomington. His numbers aren’t any better this year, other than the fact that his team is 24-3 and will be in the top 10 tomorrow, and are now conference champions.

It’s just how you presented it. He wouldn’t be helped this team. This team needs a few more threes.

Cody was screening for him close to the midline and he used the screen expertly.

Watching the game again (as i am sure many did) Watford shot that exact shot in same position earlier and a couple times on same play, one from Jordy. Hard to believe UK missed that.

Good for him, I'm glad he came back and had a good experience. I always thought he gave good effort, but he wasn't the answer for this team. I did also notice the same as some one else that he always seemed to end up on the floor after a drive to the basket. I always thought he could be a decent role player for a good team and it sounds to me like that's exactly what he is. Glad he had a positive experience for his last year. To me, he was never anything but a good representative and teammate for the program.
