whole bunch of average in the league this year, only watched Ilinois when we played them, wasn't very impressed. Wisconsin is Wisconsin they won't do anything. looks like Purdue, Mich St and possibly northwestern only teams capable of doing anything in March.

I get the whole "MSU is much better in March" narrative, but this MSU team (that just lost to Minnie) is just not quite that good. Their metrics (NET, Kenpom, etc.) are much better than their record.

They have left:
Illinois
@PSU
@Mich
Iowa
OSU
@PU
NW
@IU

That's a pretty nasty slate. I could see them dropping five of those games (Ill, @PSU, @PU, NW, @IU). That leaves them at 17-14 going into the BTT with only 2 quad 1 wins (Baylor, ISU...and ISU is just one bad shooting night away from picking up a Quad 2 loss and dropping out of the top 25 in the NET).

That's 10 seed territory at best.

only sure loss for them is at PU, they won't lose a home game down the stretch. probably end up 6-2 down the stretch

Don't know if I agree with that. This first game against Illinois is going to be a big one. It should also be noted that MSU's Walker is playing through a groin injury that he tweaked last night and (IIRC) will need offseason surgery to truly fix. If he has to miss any time over the next few weeks, that could very much affect their W/L ratio.

Like I have stated previously, it's NOT the money, but the way IU has been the last few years, and now thinking that we should pony up MORE just to watch them? Not this old man.

No tourney again, they get blowed out on occasion. I've just lost my interest for the most part. Too bad you can't write the powers to be to voice your displeasure.

It's more a B1G money grab than IU, but it is annoying that you need three or four different paid services to watch all the games. Of course years ago if it wasn't on channel 4 or a network, you just couldn't watch. Then it was Don Fischer and Max Skirvin on the radio.
