Smith is 10x more skilled than Perea. Perea was nothing more than long and athletic. Sure, Smith has displayed the greatest of basketball IQ on the court, but he’s way further advanced than Perea. Smith scored more points last year alone than Perea did in 3 years at IU. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

That's why I'm saying you need to define his role. Get him off the perimeter and on the baseline where he can slash and cut and get baskets at the rim. He's a big, strong, atheltic guy who can still be effective and have a role in the offense if used properly.

Smith set picks last year and then was left wide open to brick a 3 when teams did not guard him on the perimeter. Teams dared Smith to shoot from the 3pt line.
