New rule...Only first 3 rounds count.

I'd be winning at that game:

1. Satch 41
2. TBL 39
3. Peegs 38
4. CJ 36
5. Ash 32
6. Tunk 31
6. Glor 31
8. Terry 30
8. Stun 30
8. HB 30
11. BRS 28
11. T&T 28
11. Rum 28
14. JM 22
15. Rolo 22

If I could have made just average selections in the 4th and 6th rounds, I'd be competitive. There were safer bets in those rounds and I should have took them instead of trying to hit a home run.

Every speculation pick I made (Dayton, SMU & Wi-Mil) bombed. I got to save those speculation picks for the late rounds. In the middle rounds I need to hit to the open hole in the infield rather than swing for the fences.

One thing though. It's tough not to speculate...

...when you get to the 6th round. I had safe teams to pick in the 4th round, but by the 6th round it starts to get a little sketchy.

It's weird that I picked twice consecutively, and a few times I made a good pick with the first but bombed the second. My second pick was noticibly weaker every time:

1-2 turn...good Kansas--average Mo St
3-4 turn...good VCU--bad Dayton
5-6 turn...good Mia-O--bad SMU
7-8 turn...good Boise--bad Wi-Mil
9-10 turn...below avg Nw St(considering they were a-l)...bad S.Car.

When it came my turn I only knew 1 good team to take when I had 2 picks coming. You'd think picking on the turns would make it easier, but maybe I needed a little more time to make that 2nd pick.

Dang, that "17" next to "Davidson" is gaudy

I honestly thought Jackson State might get 17 wins. They have 10 at the moment.

Jack St seems to be struggling down the stretch.

You still could get 12 plus whatever you get in the tourney. I liked Jack St a lot heading into the draft. I liked R.Morris too.

Davidson was not supposed to be doing nearly this well. They lost 4 starters from last year's team. They were supposed to be decent, but not dominating.

I'm thinking that both Davidson and App St make the NCAA. That is providing one of them wins the Southern tourney, and the other doesn't get knocked out in the first round.

I made it to 70 wins!!! It's a great season!

Well, it was a fun season at least. I mean, the adventure with Gonzaga, Wyoming and Illinois was enough to keep things interesting.

Okay - back to your discussions about how you might still win this thing...

was afraid of that with these at larges

if TBL wins this thing I hope he does it by more than three wins so this new at-large deal doesn't end up being the the difference

I really like the at-large rule, even though mine stinks

Yeah, it adds more research, but only on the top teams, and I just like being able to have another decent team to follow -- and it kinda lops off the worst pick. And the question of what round to grab the at-large is also interesting strategically, I think.

Sure, I screwed the pooch on my at-large pick, but when it comes time to vote, I'll definitely be voting to keep the rule next season.

I agree

Same deal. I did a lousy job of it too (even worse than you), but I think it made things a lot more fun and interesting.
