14-17 from ft line

And Galloway had 2 of the misses. He is without any confidence when he goes to the line. None.
I was more mad at him for that 3 he took late in the second half. Notice Maryland went on a run after that. It's like the basketball gods make you pay for bad decisions. On that 3 notice he was the ONLY option. That was some bad decision making imho.

He rushes his FT shots. Goes straight from dribbling to shoot. Never really gets set before shooting motion. It's as if someone told him to not think about it. You don't have to over think it, but you should get set before starting shooting motion.

When You watch really good free throw shooters You notice that They hold their shooting form all the way through the shot. Eyes on the basket, follow through wit arm and hand extended, good backspin on the shot because they held the ball in balance and shot the ball off their fingertips. What I see from Galloway is that his body seems to be moving as He releases the shot. Either He is anticipating a miss and Rebound, or He feels the need to use extreme body English to "wish the ball": in, rather than hold his shooting form.

OMG nothing more irritating than a bunch of middle age men in here trying to tell us what is wrong with Galloway's shot. We have a room full of Jimmy Chitwoods that think they know enough to diagnose a college kids shot.

My guess is those "middle age men" and even a 75 year old like me have watched and studied a helluva lot more Bball than you. And everything they are saying about FT shooting form is absolutely correct.

Great....I've played alot of basketball as well but I know enough that I am not going to critique a D1 Scholarship B Ball player's mechanics. Love to hear your opinion of Tyrese Haliburton's shot. Larry Bird's shot position was off center to the right. Reggie Miller crossed his hands in his follow through. Either they go in or not. If not leave it up to Woodson and his staff to help him.

Can we have a discussion on Sparks' form? Is that allowed?

My opinion, those guys made their shots.

Let Me defend myself from my previous post. I am 72 years old. I played organized basketball from the time I was in seventh grade, through 4 years of High School, and 2 years in College (not Division I Level). In order to play at all, I had to focus on fundamentals and technique. i learned a lot from observation during Bench and practice time. i have probably forgotten more about basketball than the average fan ever learned.

Galloway is playing a guard position. Show Me another guard in D 1 with as large a number of Free throw attempts as Galloway who is shooting 51%. I am simply reporting what I see only from TV broadcasts. He appears to be off balance as he releases the ball and there seems to be excess movement that is causing the problem.

As another poster points out, there are guys Who don't have text book shots Who shoot the ball consistently and hit a high percentage. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If Galloway could use that shooting technique and hit 80% of his free throws leave it alone. They are called free throws for a reason, and 51% is not acceptable at this level and corrections need to be made.
