$123 million

IU athletics reported a record $123 million in revenues for 2018, yet buyout for Crean was too much. Let’s be honest IU doesn’t care about winning or losing games all they care about is financial success.
Let's be even more honest . . .You really don't know what IU cares about. You have an opinion but it's just that, an opinion. At best it's an educated guess. But there is a possibility you may be correct.

You're only looking at one side of the ledger. What does the expense side look like?

What were the expenditures? The $123 million in revenue is great (less than much of our Big Ten competition though) but it is worthless to the discussion. The operating profit is the number you are looking for.

As can be said for your opinion and anyone else who ventures to enter the fray of person opinion message boards.

I don't think he knows what "profit" is. Revenues - expenditures is complicated cyphering for some people . . .

The younger generation thinks if you have a check you have money and most have moved on to the plastic philosophy. Buy now and pay for it some year down the road or ask for a free handout.

$116,000,000

We made a profit before the $60 mil+ PER YEAR BTN money started rolling in. But things must be tight now. That’s how we afford to spend tens of millions on non athletic buildings around campus.

Right but $7 mil was too much to spend on Crean buyout!!! What a twilight zone episode this is.

How many sports do we play at negative revenue funded by football and basketball teams, I think all the rest.

The exact same number of sports we ran every single year before the BTN money started pouring in.
