“Everything that USAID does is a lie”

no, just recognizing past comments from POTUS showing disdain for all people from "shithole countries"

Do you think it's an accident that a humanitarian aid-focused organization is being targeted so precisely? Be honest. American first. People from non-shithole aka mostly white countries second. Others? We don't care. F'in die...
Your brain is completely broken from TDS. USAID is very very likely a den of misappropriation and bloat. There have been enough obviously terrible examples of where their money is going that even a TDS-addled brain can pick up that they’re a disgrace even if your BlueAnon feed tells you otherwise.

But there is signal in the noise of what they do and that signal needs to be restored ASAP.

I'm all for surgically targeting every single aspect of misappropriation and bloat.

I'm not for shutting everything down at the cost of many, many lives, with no effort whatsoever to first separate the wheat from the chaff.

Your last sentence seems to recognize this fact, so we seem to be in virtually COMPLETE AGREEMENT. Identify and restore the many good things that USAID does. It would have been far preferable to do that up front.

Not recognizing obvious and openly stated racially biased intentions of the Trump administration is embracing ignorance. It's a lot like preferring to not know where outbreaks of Ebola and bird flu are happening.

Or where COVID came from, right Doctor?
Everyone wants to know where it came from and how it first infected people. It's why we've isolated so many coronaviruses from wild animals and sequenced their genomes. Ones from bats are far and away the closest.

As to how it got to humans from its natural source, all bets are off. A lab accident has certainly always been a possibility. Evidence such as the spread of cases in an area 25 miles from the Wuhan Virology institute seems to suggest that it didn't radiate naturally from that location by a lab leak. That would be like saying a lab leak occurring in Columbus Indiana caused an outbreak radiating out from Shelbyville Indiana, with no cases at all in Columbus until weeks later. Common sense?

Patently absurd. Like all bureaucracies there is probably immense bloat. But USAID has done amazing work in AIDS prevention and HIV treatment around the world, especially Africa. They literally provide life-saving care to millions of patients and Trump needs to reopen this pathway ASAP or he has blood on his hands.
That's no reason to let them continue their corruption.

The entire idea is to get USAID and other government organizations to do their job and not fund social engineering.

I wonder, if as a result of this DOGE excursion, we might see a little more knowledge and appreciation for the USA as a force of good in the world as anti-Trump activists spill a lot of ink in detailing how great these programs are, which by extension, makes Trump all that more evil.

Might be a nice silver lining in all of this.

I think it's telling other countries aren't coming out against the temporary stoppage of aid to them, don't you?

Would be the case if they don’t jump the shark. They’ll clearly jump the shark, into perpetuity.
