    Take Edey & Clingan away

So we will be a Top 3 or 4 seed again. 6 losses and we are a 1 seed. The horrors. For the record I think 9 losses would be about right. Could be 11. Will depend on how tough are non con is. We will take a step back next year but would still have a shot at a 2nd weekend in March.l depending...

I agree. So every B1G and SEC team is nationally relevant based on TV contracts and game exposure.... The only thing that separates these teams now as far as coverage goes are the results on the court, and who is being talked about before games, after games, and during quiet periods. Anyone...

I know time moves by faster as we age but ita a shame you've lost perspective of it. I'm happy that you have the memories of the past to cling to, and that seems to be enough for you. Sadly is also this same attitude that has permeated the IU administration and is why IU is where they are...

I already have said why I'm here. I have to repeat it a lot, though, because it's having a hard time getting through to some. But I do appreciate you elevating the importance of my presence and equating that as validation for how IU is still relevant nationally. Glad to know you think so...

Wtf is a "national" game in basketball in 2024? CBS only? Fox? FS1? BTN? ESPN? Peacock? Every game was on one of those. All available nationally. Is it nationally televised MTEs? NCAA March games? Premier non conference match ups? Games with B1G championship implications? BTT tournament...

That is cool that you got to watch 3. I would have loved that. It is honestly laughable that you think IU gets more national attention and TV than Purdue does. What the hell does that even mean anymore? TV and media isn't in the 1980s or 1990s. Purdue has been getting more national coverage...

Furst and Brian Waddell are the two most likely candidates to free up a slot. But Furst has a brother on the team still and Waddell is a legacy so I could see both staying, and if they do then I would be surprised by whomever else was the one to transfer out. I wouldn't be surprised if Morton...

eh "love" banners? No. I would have loved the memories of the seasons and the tournament runs if I was old enough to experience them all. Too many IU fans have fallen in love with a piece of fabric, while most of them don't even have a recollection of one of the banners. Honestly, IU and...

This was a shot, and Edey is a generational talent, but he's not the only generational talent Purdue has had. We get one every generation. Mount. Robinson. Edey. But Purdue has had other shots without that level of talent. Baby Boilers would have been a 1 seed. 1987 was a real opportunity...

Gillis is tough as nails, but I don't know if his back and knees could have held up in football. I think he would have taken his COVID year if his body had let him. That dude gave it his all and played through a lot of pain the last few years. I think he is hanging it up and will be moving on...

It's this. IU's banners are as relevant to young Purdue fans as Minnesota's or Nebraska's football titles from yesteryear. You must be 45 or older (which I am) to have any real memory of any of those banners, and anyone 25 or younger wouldn't have much of a reason to choose IU other than they...

Usually someone posts some pretty good threads.....

He's not coming back, and neither Gillis nor anyone else who went through Senior Day will be back. We'll also have at least one transfer out. But no worries—we'll still be relevant and ranked all year—we'll just be super young. In two years, we'll be in a position to make another legitimate...

Nothing says I’m a Loser like saying We are F’n Winners on National TV

Over half way to that 44 year streak... Purdue had made it to five S16 s and two E8s in that first 22 years from 1980-2002. In IUs first 22 years since it's last FF it's been to just three S16s. Transfer portal lottery better hit quick or IU is going to break some records they don't want.

Why is "Edey is just tall" such a controversial take?

Lol. I just grabbed two elite rebounders from each level to show that height isn't the primary factor when rebounding. Admittingly Swanigan isn't in the same stratosphere as Rodman in that regard, but Swanni was a top notch rebounder at the college level.

Why is "Edey is just tall" such a controversial take?

You would think so, but that's not the case. Getting in position isn't just about size. It's way more than that. If it was just about size every big dude would dominate the boards and thats not the case. But Edey has broken the career rebounding record at Purdue not just because of his size but...

I can post my analysis of that here for you if you start a thread about it ;) I actually like our chances more now than I did in November.
