I watched part of Duke vs Kentucky last night. Both teams are good not great (yet?). Auburn has been the best team I’ve watched this season. It’s really early and Auburn may choke again in NCAA Tournament

Has us out of the CFP and includes 5 SEC teams. Sounds ridiculous but I wouldn’t put it past the powers that be to turn the CFP into a full SEC playoff. I’m afraid we’re screwed if we don’t pull off the upset in Columbus. This is like a political campaign with momentum swings and I just wonder how little it will take for the committee to dismiss IU’s season as a cute little story but ultimately put us “where we belong”. Our own conference set the precedent in 2020 by choosing the big brand over the little upstart program

Broke campaign equal access law?

-At this point need Miami to run the table. ACC is a one bid league unless SMU or Clemson win the ACC championship. 1 loss Miami likely gets in with their current ranking

-B12 is almost assuredly a one bid league but BYU running the table ensures it.

-We’re big Georgia fans the next two weeks. Georgia beating Ole Miss this weekend eliminates Rebels from contention and Georgia beating Tennessee the following week would allow the idle Hoosiers to jump the Volunteers assuming we take care of business this weekend.

-Penn St losing to either Washington or Minnesota to end the year likely ensures the Hoosiers are in at 11-1 assuming the one loss is to Ohio State

-Alabama/LSU is an elimination game this weekend. If Bama is is fortunate enough to escape Death Valley with a win, good chance they jump a few teams…IU included

-TAMU must beat Texas last game of the year to have a chance

My gut says the only chance an 11-1 IU team doesn’t get in is if a team like SMU upsets Miami in the ACC championship game and even then the probability IU gets in is still very high

Home playoff game lose or Major Bowl win?

IU Women's Basketball has partnered with Hoops4ALS to raise awareness and support for ALS research. Their December 1 game against Maine will officially be a Hoops4ALS game. Some of you might know that my brother was an IU basketball manager under Coach Knight and that he passed away in the summer of 2023 after a 4 year battle with ALS. We were co-founders of Hoops4ALS, so it's good to get a game in Assembly Hall. All the players will wear our shooting shirts, coaches will wear pins and there will be some in-game recognitions. Hope as many of you as possible can make it out to the game.

If you're not able to go to the game and you still want to join in on the fun, we're hosting a pre-game event and watch party at Upland Brewery in Bloomington.

We're also doing a bunch of games all over the place. We'll be at the Indiana State-Ball State game in Muncie this coming Saturday.

It goes without saying that we struggled pretty mightily against the athleticism and physicality of Michigan’s defensive line in the second half on Saturday. My initial thought was we may be in trouble vs Ohio State’s equally difficult front given a blueprint had finally been established. But the more I think about it, the more I see this as a potential benefit. It gave us experience matching up to that (in a win still!) and now it gives our awesome offensive coaches two weeks to scheme accordingly (not to mention what the extra rest will do). My trust in their preparation in the expanded timeframe is enormous! LFG!
