Traffic Question

Flight out of Indy tomorrow at 10:15am. Is traffic going up to Indy in 69 around morning commute, ie 8-9 am, heavy or flow smoothly? Trying to determine if I want to stay in Indy tonight and drive up after the game or just stay in Bloomington tonight and drive up tomorrow am. Pros and cons to both. The only thing I don’t know is what traffic looks like going up ton Indy after all this construction that’s taken place. Appreciate feedback. I need to book a room!

I was considering hiring the IU basketball team to walk my dog

until I realized they can't hold onto a lead.

But seriously, I have never had such high hopes for a Hoosier team since Kelvin Sampson left and been so disappointed with the results. They have had the lead on so many teams only to fall apart at the end. When I see them winning at halftime, I have no confidence in them to win the game.

Hoping to win 3 of the next four and then a good performance in the Big Ten tournament or no NCAA once again. (I know - posting the obvious - but just needed to get it off my chest)

Official Prediction Thread: IU vs. Maryland....

and what are we drinking tonight?

February has not been kind to our boys. We need to turn the tide quickly if we are to have any hopes of salvaging a tourney spot. A home game against a not-so-good Maryland team is just what the doctor ordered. Look for big games from Trayce and Race as well as Xavier and Tamar Bates. We'll see a good game, start to finish, and easily cover the 6.5 point spread.

IU 78
Terps 65

Victory Brewing Golden Monkey for me tonight.

What say you Hoosier fans?

GO HOOSIERS!!

Assembly Hall

SSAH by coach:

Knight: 350-49, 87.7%, seven 0 loss seasons, 7 losses during ’84/‘85, 50 game winning streak
Davis: 62-18, 77.5%, 14 losses in last 3 seasons
Sampson: 32-2, 94.1%, one 0 loss season, 1,000,000 text messages, 300,000 joints smoked
Tom Crean: 120-40, 75%, one 0 loss season, 19 losses in first two seasons
Archie Miller: 48-22, 69%, lost at least 4 every year (BK only lost 4 times in a season 3 times)
Mike Woodson: TBD

I thought this was pretty interesting. During my 4 years in Btown we were 55-5 at home. Makes it pretty obvious why I became the fan that I am today.

I wasn’t happy with the Sampson hire at the time it happened. I didn’t like his OU teams and their reputation. It does make you wonder if he would have hung another banner or two. I’m sure arrests would have been up also.

I doubt we will ever see a stretch of success like the BK years but no reason why we shouldn’t be top 3rd of B1G and competing in the NCAA every year.

Woodson knows this history and will do everything he can to get us back. The jury is still out so only time will tell.

-6.5 Cavanagh’s last stand.

Push em all in fellas. The losing streak stops tonight. This is my second lock of the year. Too much pride, too much talent. This is not the Archie Miller era and this season is not over. Scoop was a three away last game to shutting everyone up.

This one will not be close. 5 games worth of frustration will be let out on the turtles tonight. All aboard!!!!

For some reason, I've had terrible lower back problems the past two days.

I have no idea what caused these issues.

My chiropractor worked on it Tuesday afternoon and I have another appointment with him on Thursday. Hopefully, we will make progress tomorrow.

I can barely walk, I am hunched over like an old man and it hurts terribly when I try to get in or out of a chair. It also hurts when I lie down on our bed or try to turn over once I'm in bed.

At least it's not during the golf season.

Matt Luke

Saw he stepped down as Georgia's OL coach yesterday. I advocated for him as a Hiller replacement before he announced his decision to resign a few months ago. The article mentioned he's stepping away to spend time with family which is understandable but guessing it's also only temporarily. Luke is the former Ole Miss head coach replacing Hugh Freeze and has also worked under Phillip Fullmer and David Cutcliffe. Allen and Luke both coaches 3 seasons at Ole Miss together prior. He would be a no-brainer to replace Hiller assuming interested.

Banning (really banning) teaching of CRT in higher education is wrong and unconstitutional

Texas Lt. Gov. seeking to revoke tenure to college professors who teach CRT:

I'm pretty sure no one on this board despises the push of CRT/anti-racism into public K-12 schools more than me. But there is a bright dividing line between forced public education of minors and volitional education of adults. There is also a huge difference in the academic freedoms between college professors, who are supposed to be "creating" knowledge and those teaching children.

First Amendment jurisprudence generally recognizes this distinction. But to even broach the topic by outlawing teaching CRT/anti-racism or even revoking/denying tenure to faculty who teach or write about it, is wrong and dangerous. (That said, I think that most writing in this area is pure bunk and 99% of the people "teaching" or "researching" these topics should be fired for incompetence or not given tenure for bad writing, but those are department decisions that should be made on the merits of a person's work, not based on a blanket ban of ideas, no matter how pernicious or stupid).
