Many of us are thrilled to see the outcome of

this election. I am concerned about the pubs taking the house on a couple of issues. Most importantly healthcare. It would actually provide an opportunity to dump Obamacare. As sope has found out and many of us who have considerable experience in the healthcare system know it’s a broken mess. At every level. From the cost of insurance to care.

One godsend in this boondoggle has been coverage for pre-existing conditions. I would hate to see us go back to pre Obamacare days and put that worry on so many.

We’ll see

After reflecting, i honestly don't know if i am more mad, disappointed or sad...

I planted a few paw paw trees 3 years ago. They are about 8-9' now. I haven't had one single paw paw yet to eat. I have self-pollinated (don't ask), tell my yard people to stay the hell away, but nothing.
Finally, this year i had 1 single fruit growing out of all the trees, and i watched that motherfvcker every week grow. Since they ripen late summer the stress was overwhelming...then a few weeks ago i noticed a squirrel ate my lone paw paw. Do you know how many things you can make with no paw paws......that is correct, nothing. I have never even eaten one. They very well could taste like shit.

Last 5 Minutes of CNN - looking for House numbers

24-25 IU Basketball Season Prediction Thread

I thought it might be fun to have a go-to prediction thread that we can check back on at the end of the season. The exercise is simple; predict the final outcome of the various categories listed below. We can, of course, discuss the predictions throughout the season before we get to the final analysis. Feel free to copy and paste the bolded category titles (and, of course, erase my non-bolded predictions) so that it is easier to follow from post to post. If I am feeling up to it, I might tally up all the choices to get somewhat of a consensus. If you choose to participate, please do so before the South Carolina game. Without further ado...

I’ve stayed away as promised…

Until after the election. Congrats to all on the winning side. Though my disdain for DT won’t disappear, I recognize the results of a fair election and will respect the office of the presidency regardless of who holds that position. Though never a huge fan of Kamala I will add that it’s nice to see a gracious transfer of power and respect for the constitutional process

Possible major change to the Portal (if enacted)

The way I read that there will only be one 30 day Portal window... : 12/9/24 - 1/7/25 (this year)
The after Spring Practice one will be no more...

I guess we'll know within the month whether this has passed or not since it's supposed to take effect on December ninth...

Cignetti and Staff proved they can deal with this sort of tight window last year so with a year to prepare there's no reason to believe they shouldn't be able to handle things well again...

The wild card this time is that there will probably only be one or two JMU guys in the mix but we also hopefully won't need more 18 or 19 total Portal guys versus the more than 20 plus we brought in last time around...

We would seem to be well positioned already given that we appear to check every box that a player might want in that situation... The word has to be out there nationally by now...

The hockey-subbing Hoosiers

Reposting an older article that I (unfortunately) recalled watching IU come nowhere near the spread in that game vs. a KenPom 300+ opponent. It appears we may have a new roster, but the same old coach.

There was a mind-numbing moment in the 1ST HALF last night where Indiana managed to not only do the already familiar hockey subbing, but had its entire starting five on the bench (and subsequently blew a lead and kept SIEUEIUE in the game)…

https://indiana.rivals.com/news/a-d...on-and-his-history-with-substitution-patterns

Something to watch for as the year progresses. Is the team playing not only against an opponent, but careless, momentum-sapping rotations…

In other news, Michigan (Dusty May) 101-53 over #207 Cleveland State…

More Cig Proof

Kent State may be the worst team football this year. They were the worst team in the MAC last year - Cig saw Big Ten starting potential in CJ West. He had high stats for Kent (1st in TFL, 2nd in sacks) but not league leading - and Cig still saw what he could do.

Cig has “football eyes” - a talent you can’t teach, like a RB who sees where the yards will be before they’re there.

142,081,771 < 155,507,476

142,000,000 counted so far (Reuters) - will go up a bit

155,500,000 in 2020

81,283,500 for Biden in 2020

74,223,975 for Trump in 2020

67,768,544 for Harris so far counted (Reuters)

72,475,248 for Trump so far counted (Reuters)

Neither will make the 2020 number

Harris fell shorter

Why?

This deserves its own thread.

I’ll start - was it “8 years of hateful rhetoric/propaganda drove some to stay home“ OR “some demographic in the Democrat Party dislikes Harris” or Door No. 3?

Need to hammer Michigan

Indiana would really bolster their CFP chances by not just beating UM, but hammering UM. I'm thinking Indiana probably needs style points and a 20+ point victory would obviously guarantee style points.

It would take a small amount of pressure off of the Ohio State contest, IMO. If Indiana thumps UM and Purdue, but narrowly loses to OSU in Columbus, I think we're a CFP lock.

That said, Indiana has plenty enough horsepower to win outright in Columbus. The two common opponents, Nebraska and MSU, played OSU closer than they played Indiana. Nebraska only lost by 4 points to OSU and lost to Indiana by nearly 50 points! I'll guarantee Indiana has the better coaching staff....Cignetti having an off week to prepare for OSU just might be the Hoosier prescription to victory!

What a season for Indiana football!!!
