the corner 3 seems to be the preferred shot in the NBA, been watching a lot of the playoffs, you see a ton of corner 3s and they seem to shoot a high percentage. being a prolific 3-point marksman in my day I always preferred shooting from the wings, didn't have to worry about stepping out of bounds and the backboard gave good depth perception. in the corner it looks like you only have about 2 feet from the 3-point line and out of bounds on an NBA court

FWIW, it's a fair bit shorter from the corners that other spots on the arc.

Shorter shot in corners, defense cannot come from one sideline, or from behind.
