Scott Adams makes a funny cartoon strip and Elon Musk - who agreed with this tweet (or X-cretion) - has done more than anyone to advance EV and space travel technology. Both think they're smarter than everyone else in just about every other field or category known to humanity because their relative levels of success have fostered their megalomania. When they get push back on their crazy political/cultural ideas, they lash out and essentially say anyone who disagrees with them is stupid, brainwashed and can't see the full 'truth' for what it is.

The only difference between these two guys and the countless other MAGA/QAnon idiots online is that they've managed to achieve a level of success in some areas of their professional lives. If they're not using social media to push their latest product(s), they're using it to push the same tin-foil hat wearing conspiracy theories some idiot sitting in his mom's basement in Des Moines is pushing. They're conspiracy theorists whose success has enabled them to say and do everything they do with off-the-charts levels of conviction and hubris, even when they're full of crap.

There are definitely areas where that is probably true.

I think a lot of people see someone who makes an unfathomable amount of money and assume that person is also infallible on all fronts. If we were looking at his social media prowess in a vacuum, he'd be an idiot. He's not too sharp on First Amendment Rights and how advertising works either.
