Will be interesting to see if they let Szynski go after Terre Haute North's stud junior, TJ Collett, or if they pitch around him like most everyone has done all year long.Has a really good arm, already hitting 90-92 fastball and a developing curve mid 70s with good depth. He's only a Jr, and possible draft pick out of HS.

Collett is a Kentucky commit (unfortunately), but he will very likely be a top 50 pick in next year's draft and skip college. As a sophomore, he hit .536 with 17 home runs, breaking former Hoosier Josh Phegley's school record. He had a 39/8 walk to strikeout ratio last year, and a 44/6 ratio this year. He has only hit 3 home runs this year, but that is largely in part to rarely getting pitches to hit. He has been walked or hit by a pitch in almost 50% of his plate appearances, resulting in an OBP over .600 despite a batting average of only .302. TJ just recently switched to a 33 ounce, 34 inch wood bat to help him "stay back a little bit more", and so far the results have been noticeable. He hit a HR in the sectionals that was probably close to 450 feet.
A large part of North's somewhat surprising (currently unranked) run to the state title game has been the emergence of 1B Chase Jones. Jones, who follows Collett in the batting order, has started making pitchers pay for pitching around Collett. He has hit four of his five home runs on the season during the state tournament, with the most recent one being a go-ahead grand slam in the semi-state and the other three being 3 run jacks in the sectionals.
Should be a great game.
