Picked up a defensive end

UVa recruit, according to recruiting sites . . .

do you have something on Twitter?

Welcome Brandon Wilson

Sounds like a big get in this class! Decommitted from Virginia today to join IU!

+1. Really nice offer sheet! Would this effect his twin bookend Wyatt Ray?

Wouldn't it be nice to have both of these 6' 3" 240 pound defensive ends from Florida. Throw David Kenney into this mix and all of a sudden we have a wow factor. The last 3 weeks have really been something!

Brandon.........thanks for coming to IU. You will help the ship sail into unchartered territory.

What I don't understand about the so called 25 limit and other questions.

First of all, good pick up. Would sure like to get a defensive tackle or two to go with this class.

About that so called 25 limit each year. If this is the case, how did Tennessee sign 31 last year and now have 27 commits this year and are still looking to add more. If there is an NCAA rule limiting a school to 25 recruits a year, how can TN do what they are doing? Even the sports writers down here in Knoxville have never provided a good explanation how last years class was 32 and how they keep getting more commits this year over the supposed 25 limit.

They have recently lost 6 highly rated freshman from last year who are transferring and a soph receiver who was recruited in 2012 and was the 20th best receiver in the country at that time. He played in 2 games this past year and had no catches and is transferring to FBS Chattanooga. Does this attrition figure into the number of recruits a school can sign?

Speaking of attrition, does anyone know if we have lost any potentially good players and whether or not David Kenney will be back this semester?

Re: What I don't understand about the so called 25 limit and other questions.

Early enrollees can count towards the previous year if the 25 player limit had not been reached that previous year, but then you sort of have to expand than backward a few years. Undersigning even several years back can open up spots now towards the 25 limit if you keep getting early enrollees to fill the previous years vacant slots. Essentially teams put as many players as possible to the previous year before they start counting for the current year, and then repeat that process the following year and so on. Ultimately its difficult to determine which players are assigned to a given year.

Tenn had 15 early enrollees last year, so who knows how many of those actually counted towards 2013 and how many of the 2013 early enrollees counted towards 2012 and so on.
