In Jakarta it absolutely sucks. Drivers cancelling left and right. Surge constantly. I saw a surge 8.8x at one point for no apparent reason. Not enough drivers too. The local taxi is marginally more expensive and you don't have to wait 10 minutes for it either. Why would anyone possibly use uber when they are surging? Awful.

My only experience has been in US cities. I'd imagine it needs more time to improve in other areas and will never be as reliable in Jakarta as it would in Chicago.
