1st period:

IU entered the game a 36.5-point favorite. IU and the Panthers traded early buckets with IU's defense being a little sluggish in allowing early buckets near the basket, and the score at 6-6 early on. IU started pulling away some with an 11-6 lead, and it was 16-10, IU, at the first timeout of the game at the 4:29 point of the 1st and IU had hit 7 of 10 from the field up to that point.

End of 1st - IU 29 EIU 14 :

All IU starters scored in the period with Holmes and Garzon having 8 and 7 points, respectively.

2nd period:

Scalia opened the scoring with back-to-back 3-point shots to make it 35-14 with EIU calling an early timeout with the score at 37-17. Scalia picked up her 2nd foul at the 6:36 mark and headed to the bench for probably the rest of the half. IU finished the period adding to the lead.

Half - IU 53 EIU 24

IU was 23 of 35 from the field for 65.7 pct and was 6 of 12 on 3s for 50 pct. IU had five turnovers in the half. Holmes had 14 points with Scalia hitting for 11 points and she was 3 for 3 behind the line. Freshman Lenee Beaumont hit a 3-ball in her first shot as a Hoosier.

EIU was 32.1 pct of their shots and were 2 of 4 on 3s. They committed 10 turnovers in the first half.

3rd period:

IU continued to add to their lead and it was 66-27 at the first time out at the 4:59 mark with Holmes and Garzon doing much of the damage at the offensive end. IU went with all reserves at the 3:13 mark of the 3rd to finish out the period.

End of 3rd - IU 77 EIU 32

4th period:

The reserves played the entire 4th period.

Final - IU 96 EIU 43

Coach Moren got her 400th career win tonight. The starters played just over two periods and a half, with the reserves getting plenty of action. IU shot 65.8 pct from the field and 38.1 pct on 3s. They were an abysmal 2 of 11 from the line for 18.2 pct. They had 26 assists to 10 turnovers, and with all of the substitutions, I guess the 10 turnovers were acceptable. EIU hit 30.2 pct from the field and was 20.0 pct from the field on 3s.

IU was led by Holmes with 19 points in limited action. Garzon had 15 points also in limited action. Bargesser was a perfect 7 of 7 from field to include a 3 and had 15 points. Freshman Lenee Beaumont finished 4 of 5 from the field to include a 3-pointer to finish with 9 points.
