1st period:

Holmes scored IU's first five points and it was OSU up 6-5 early on with the the Buckeyes knocking down two 3s. IU had three early turnovers to include two offensive fouls. At a TV timeout at the 4:51 mark, IU had a 7-6 lead with Holmes having all seven points for IU. OSU was in a full court press whenever possible which was expected.

OSU knocked down a couple of 3s out of the timeout while IU had one 3-ball negated on a turnover and it was OSU 16-11.

End of 1st: OSU 18 IU 11

OSU was 4 for 7 behind the arc while IU was 0 for 3. IU had six turnovers in the period compared to OSU's three turnovers.

2nd period:

They are collapsing on Holmes every time she gets the ball as OSU had a 20-13 lead early on. A deep three by Scalia made it 20-18 OSU. IU turnovers were still a problem and IU was up to 8 turnovers at a 7:48 timeout and OSU up 24-18.

An old fashion three-point play by Garzon made it 25-23 OSU. An old fashion three-point play by Bargesser made it 27-26 OSU. IU tied the game at 27-all at the 5:49 mark on a Bargesser FT.

IU grabbed the lead for the first time since early in the 1st at 30-29 on a three by Garzon. Sheldon had picked up her 2nd foul for OSU.

Garzon had picked up her 2nd foul with OSU up 32-31 with IU having two starters with two fouls in Garzon and Moore-McNeil. Back-to-back layups by Moore -McNeil and Scalia gave IU a five-point lead at the half.

Halftime: IU 37 OSU 32

Both teams turned the ball over with IU at 10 turnovers and OSU at 7 turnovers at the break.

IU did a pretty good job of handling the OSU full court press although I remember at least one turnover off of it.

IU shot 44.8 from the field and they were 2 of 6 on 3s. IU was 9 for 11 at the line and IU outrebounded OSU 23 to 14 and had 5 0-boards to OSU's 2. Both IU and OSU had three starters with two fouls to include Garzon, Moore-McNeil, and Bargesser for IU. Scalia had 11 points at the half with Holmes adding 10 points.

OSU was 40.6 from the field to include 5 of 11 behind the arc.

3rd period:

IU turned the ball over three times early on but IU managed to hang on the lead with a 3 by Scalia at 40-37 with 7:06 mark. OSU regained the lead at 44-42 at the midway mark. IU had two straight layups roll off the rim as OSU took a 46-42 lead at a TV timeout at 4:38. IU's turnovers are at 17 right now to 10 for OSU. McMahon picked up her 3rd foul for OSU but is still on the floor.

OSU had outscored IU 18-5 to start the 3rd and were up 50-42 before IU scored to make it 50-44.

Sloppy play and turnovers by IU gave OSU at lead at 55-44 at the under 2-minute mark of the period. Holmes picked up her third foul on a pick just before the end of the period.

End of 3rd: OSU 55 IU 47

IU was up to 21 turnovers. OSU had eight more FGA than IU thanks to the turnovers. OSU outscored IU 23-10 in the period.

4th period:

OSU went on a 5-0 run to start the period and had their biggest lead at 60-47. IU's turnover number was up to 22 and several of their turnovers were of the offensive foul nature. It was OSU 65-53 at just over five minutes left in the game.

IU had cut the margin to eight points at 65-57 at the 4:06 mark of the 4th and a timeout. Holmes for IU and McMahon for OSU were the only players in foul trouble with four fouls apiece right now. With 2:42 left in the game, there was a timeout with Holmes going to the line to try to complete an old fashion three-point play and IU down 68-59.

Back-to-back 3s by Scalia and Garzon pulled IU within four points at 70-66 with 28.8 seconds left. IU moved to within three points at 72-69 with 17 seconds left, but OSU would hit enough FTs to hold IU off 74-69.

Final: OSU 74 IU 69
A really bad 3rd period and 23 turnovers doomed IU although IU made a game of it at the end. Scalia led IU with 25 points.
