Chinese company's purchase of North Dakota farmland raises national security concerns in Washington
The purchase of 300 acres of bucolic farmland in North Dakota is raising national security concerns over the buyer: Chinese food ingredient maker Fufeng Group.
This is on Grand Forks City.
Warner and Rubio are now openly expressing serious concerns about Fufeng.
This is only going to get worse.
Converting IC's to EEs will be interesting. FLSA OT rules for EEs may raise shipping costs.
We have real issues with worker shortages. It gives workers real power in negotiations. We see it playing out nationwide.
For a long time many rested this on Biden's $1200 payment. We see today that the US is critically short of airline pilots. No way people making $100,000 quit there jobs because of a $1200 payment a year ago.
Increased immigration would put a dent in the shortage and inflation. But that is a political nonstarter.
That will fix it for sure, glad to see Biden stepping up to the plate with real solutions.

This is BS.
It's only because of the efforts of the Grand Forks citizens fighting this that the federal government got engaged.
It appears Uncle Sam was stonewalled at every turn by the city administration. It also appears the officials insulted their constituents.

A common dodge used by Fufeng and other “private” Chinese companies is that they are not state-owned and thus, not an instrument of CCP policy.
The reality is that the power wielded by the CCP means there is functionally no difference.

that said, the reality is that big business and govt are far more connected at the hip in the US as well, than people want to admit.
as for inflation being at a 40 yr high, monopolization and privatization are at a 40 yr high as well.
the connection isn't a coincidence.
monopolization and privatization are far and away the leading drivers of higher prices, which are spun as "inflation", when in actuality are just price gouging due to monopoly market power, rather than being cost driven.
and the higher prices that are largely cost driven, are costs passed on/driven by said price gouging of said monopolies and privatization, and not so much labor cost.
