The annual rate of inflation was 1.4 percent when he entered office, not 9 percent.
Well he certainly contributed significantly to inflation. But that’s not the issue. lying about ascertainable facts to put himself in a better light is awful as OUR representative. So what can we trust him on? Why would we believe anything he says?
inflation was 1.4% when he took office not 9%. he told a terrible lie. and lie is all that he does. deflect and lie. combine that with his mental and physical decline he's simply unfit at this point.
a reasonable person with a reasonable mind would answer:
yes inflation was obviously much lower when i entered office. as you know we were in unchartered territory with covid and we made a commitment to our constituents to be transformative. in light of same we rolled out a number of stimulus programs ranging from tax credits converted to monthly checks to extended unemployment benefits. the cumulative impact of these programs was to ameliorate the pain Americans were feeling. Unfortunately this also gave rise to higher inflation than we had hoped and that inflation today is sticking. Moving forward our objective is to get prices down from gas to cars to groceries so that all Americans can benefit from what is otherwise a very strong economy

My neighbor across the street at my previous house stopped talking to me the day my wife put a 2020 Biden sign in our window. He sent me a text basically calling us socialists and we need to watch out for the government. We were like best neighbor friends and helped each other out with projects. And I helped his kids with college applications.

I don't know if you recall but you answered on here about my wife and her employment issue about a month ago. Quick update, she got to move facilities (another hospital as the company she works for owns multiple in Louisville) to a lesser job but for 15k more a year and keep all her benefits. She was a nurse Director and now she manages a heart and lung unit but kept Director benefits.

She got out of the toxic environment and in a much more stable unit for more money. The protection of the CNO of hospital she was at is unreal, this is the 3rd such instance. DEI is definitely playing a major roll in all of this which is sad.
Sadly it works both ways, we have several people we know who will not come to our house to swim with their kids because I have a Trump 2020 flag in my detached garage. They are mainly people my wife knows, funny thing is she bought the flag but I get the blame.

My late mother-in-law grew up in rural south Georgia (Coffee county, one hotbed in the GA case where Trump wanted to seize voting machines). Every summer they have a reunion weekend for her descendants and those of her 7 siblings. That area in Georgia is hard-core Trump territory and my wife's relatives who live there love to show their Trump loyalty in every way. They are pretty overtly racist too.
This year, curiously, the reunion invitations went out and some people who usually attend did not get their invitations. Specifically, my sister-in-law, a very vocal anti-Trumper who is a school teacher.
My wife wants to go and she was invited. She's more liberal than me (an Independent) but she never gets into politics discussion with her relatives, She is trying to convince her sister to go anyway. But my wife is dreading the political talk and feels she will be the next in line to get permanently disinvited for not being racist enough.
I usually go to this reunion, and as a former farm boy I can often steer the conversation away from politics.
Anyway, this is not a weekend I am looking forward to. Next month sometime. Hot as hell too.
