Is this the next battleground? No idea who this smarmy clown is, but he’s clearly pushing for the former at the expense of the latter.

I don't get it.

My phone can track my steps now. Unless it's mandatory, how is it an affront to personal freedom or privacy?

But let's assume someone pushes to make it mandatory. IF "climate change" is the existential threat some believe it is, that policy would obviously be warranted. You don't have much personal freedom, and privacy is irrelevant, if we are all dead.

Two words - Taxation and hypocrisy.

I'll start with hypocrisy first. This speech was delivered at WEF, for which participants (and certainly speakers) are notorious for using private jets to attend. Similar to Al Gore railing on ordinary people to do more for climate change while using obscene amounts of carbon emissions himself.

Now on to taxation - all I heard was, we can figure out how much people use and then we'll tax them. If they travel more for work, tax the company. If they have to travel because family is not local, tax them. Similar to the concept of VAT, it isn't necessarily problematic in a vacuum. But, there is no way that our country is going to swap income for VAT. The intent is always incremental, in many leftist politicians eyes.

Lastly on privacy - I get what you are saying, but you don't have to use tracking. I turned off my GPS on my phone and don't use it for my watch (just use the steps function). Secondly, do you really want the government having this data? We've already seen how it persecutes those opposed to it in the past three administrations.

Just what I need. The menu screen at my local burger joint not only gives me calories but will also give me the carbon footprint of a double cheeseburger with bacon. Of course the drive through will have a carbon footprint monitor for my exact make and model of my car, which AI will identify.

Meanwhile Joe sis pack only wants to go to work with a sandwich in his lunch pale.

Were you going for Joe cis pack, or Joe six pack? I’m so confused about this stupidity.

The same hypocrisy shown by Congress that make 6 figures and have the best healthcare plan possible but yet think minimum wage is fine and crappy healthcare is perfectly fine for the rest of us.

People making poor decisions doesn't make issues with climate change any less real or any less important

Good luck with that.

But let’s assume someone pushes to make religion mandatory. If “God” is real, that policy would obviously be warranted. You don’t have much personal freedom, and privacy is irrelevant, if we all end up in hell.

To the extent carbon emissions are a cost to the word, isn't that an externality? Isn't the carbon tax designed to take account of that?

I don't care if the government or Google or whoever has my data. It's all anonymized anyway, and even if it weren't, I'm not that important. Look at my porn habit, my sports betting habit, my love of kitten videos, my step count, my spending info if it helps make the world a better place in some way. I get that others don't want to share such info and I don't want to force anyone to. But for me, I really don't care. The benefit I get from Google, etc. far outweighs any mild concern I have.

I don't know, my fetishes would even make @mcmurtry66 squirm!

I'm not that important either, but how would anyone who is or wants to be (think politicians), ever feel comfortable? There's a reason our candidates continue to be deteriorating, senile, unimpressive, old farts.

What's your guess? Gotta have a little fun with it.
Ahhhhhh. Daughter home with her friends and I’ve been enjoying being cozy drinking delicious boatswain hazy ipa from Trader Joe’s so I’m not at my sharpest

That said we have clues. Soccer knowledge. But didn’t really play that I know of so probably coincided with the advent of tv coverage. Poser soccer guy

Man of finance. Educated. Uses words like robust. legit. So probably didn’t have kids when young.

Yet has young kids. So probably not old and a philanderer like myself. Horny but no offered evidence of dalliances. Still with his first wife whom he must like. And has fetishes. That’s a younger man with energy’s game.

Travels to Scottsdale for work. So young enough to have to hustle.

I’m thinking 38-42 range. I’ll go 38

Pretty damn close sir. You are right, I started to like hockey and soccer later in life. I hate baseball but played that the most as a kid, followed by hoops. Hard to make varsity when you are 5’1”.

Those TJ IPAs are good for cognitive function. Which means they aren’t strong enough for me.

soccer is an acquired taste that shows discernment on your part. I liked playing hockey a lot and see the appeal but to me it’s like a worse version of soccer. Less control. I equate dumping the puck in to just driving a long ball hoping for the best, which I hate. I like Olympic hockey

It’s great that I know your actual height and Murt’s dick size. @BradStevens what’s your measurements?

Do you happen to know the makeup of The House, the Senate, and the White House when this bill was passed that led to crappy healthcare for the rest of us?

You won’t answer

Great! Thanks for the data Brad and based on your carbon footprint, and what we consider to be wasteful usage of resources, here is your tax bill!

Sincerely,

Your government
