“Your password for Rivals.com site appeared on a data leak, consider changing it”

delightful

Tip: check out https://haveibeenpwned.com/ to see if any of your accounts are vulnerable from one of the many corporate data breaches and see what (if any) account names/passwords you need to change.

What usually happens is a data breach from a single small place (like a message board running 15 year old software, or a political campaign you donated to 10 years ago) will get your username and password for that domain, then use it to backtrace your actual email address to attempt to get in. Since some humans are dumb and use the same password for everything, they get extra booty-blown when their email is then used to get into all their bank accounts and whatnot.
