Hard to disagree with him. I definitely have much more sympathy for them than us. IU may have been on 89/111 projected brackets, but WVU was apparently on all 111.

The committee was a bit more corrupt this year than other years. But not by large amount. It is hilarious though that nearly every prognosticator had WVU in yet the committee didn't. Can't hide it.

Maybe they consulted with TV Teddy on how to perform the most obvious screw job. Not bothering to disguise it because nobody can do anything about it anyway. Corruption. (But what does TV have against West Virginia?)

But to say that NC was selected because it had an 8-0 record against Quad 2 schools is really pathetic. To get beat at home by a Quad 3(?) schools should have eliminated them from the start. And 1-12 against Quad 1 teams is another reason to eliminate them.

You sound new to college bball.

You don't think schools and conferences would immediately adjust schedules to clear an artificial 20 games won hurdle?
It's not a bad indicator though. They can't just add games to their schedule and if they added more cupcakes, their SOS would drop so winning an extra couple games might cost you. I doubt he meant that's the only measure, but we've won 19 the last 2 years and not made it, nor do I feel like we should have. And, likely this year 1 more win would've gotten us in, so it's in the ballpark.

But the algorithms had UNC ahead of WVU

Pretty condemning when the braketologist, who focus on interpreting the methods and standards used by the committee in the past, had WV on all 118 mocks (not sure of the actual #s and spitballing). Not surprised we didn't get in, but WV fans have a legit gripe.

I understand and I couldn’t figure out what I thought were strange brackets by the pros (because of UT and IU but never looked at WVU and UNC). It would likely take a deep dive into schedules and the algorithms to see why this occurred. I will take a quick look later but it would likely take substantial time.

Drop the tournament back to 32 teams, eliminate auto-bids, place teams by their body of work, evaluate how they play against who they play, weight given to the second half of the season. Will never happen because $$$$

Trust me, not even close to new to college ball. Just new to people/teams getting butt hurt because their teams weren’t actually worthy of making it in. And if you think IU performed well enough to make it into the tournament this year, you must be the “new” fan of this thinking. Wouldn’t surprise me one bit if some tried to adjust their scheduled. I just hope it’s not IU.

Caught just a snip of a sports show at the gym last night, one of the talking heads was saying that teams need more time at the beginning of the season to play exhibition games that don't count, to be able to play some good teams and not have to schedule just cupcakes because they are afraid of recording any losses, and have more freedom to give more players more minutes and figure out good lineups. IDK if it would have made any difference for Woodson but overall sounded like a reasonable idea.
