Usually I hold my thoughts until the next morning, but i think I can set them out calmly and logically now.
1. I believe we really lost this game in the first half by never attempting to sustain a running game. I know that at least the first 5 plays were all pass plays. I don't think we had more than 8 running plays in the half and I don't think Scott had more than 3 attempts. As a result, we never used a lot of clock running the offense, their were no sustained Drives, and our Defense was on the field much more than they should have been
2. They must have passed a new Rule this week that prohibits a QB from throwing the Ball more than 15 Yards downfield or throwing a pass of more than 5 Yards to the Tight End. Too many of those flat Wide Receiver Screens for minimal yardage. Other than that, we were pretty much left with long go routes down the Sideline.
3. I have maintained this for years. It seems that no matter who is Coaching, we don't have any type of Screen Pass Game. If we could run 3 of those a game and get some yardage, it would take some pressure off the Oline by slowing down the pass rush.
4. On Defense, there were too many plays where it looked like the Defense was moving and not set in their stance. We couldn't take anything away from Ole Miss and limit their Offense and make them more predictable. We Couldn't get people loose on the Pass Rush to Make Corral uncomfortable, and when we did, he was able to avoid big losses and move forward for several yards after contact.
5. Our Tackling was atrocious. Too many yards after initial contact, several situations where multiple tackles or gang tackles were broken. We just didn't look sharp.
