Why you socialists should know better

There's no socialists here.

Maybe you fox news watchers should retake a civics class (pay attention this time) and read a history book.

I socialise a lot

and give a part of me to quite a few people every time.

Ich bin ein socialist.

Okay..., since I caused this mess of a thread it is time for me to man up and respond to the inquiries aimed towards it/me...

Unlike the OP which was far too brief and extremely inarticulate, my response will be long and perhaps rambling (but hopefully a little more articulate)...

To begin..., I'll be truthful and tell you I was at least two sheets to the wind (if not three), having self medicated (for some level 7+ pain) with liberal doses of "medicinal" alcohol that Veterans Day evening... That approach worked well in regards to my pain but it didn't work so well in regard to posting style...

Morale: Don't post when you're close to blasted...

Now to the substance (or lack of) of the post...:

What got me fired up was after reading a Veterans Day article about Denton (actually about three of them) it bothered me greatly to believe that evidently many on the left would seemingly willingly acquiesce to (over the long term) what Denton and many, many others fought against for forty plus years..., suffering beyond measure, some sacrificing their last full measure during the oft times hot, "Cold War"... Finally..., Winning it...

In my view Capitalism as flawed and often times inequitable as it is..., is clearly superior to socialism (which is only a quarter step away from communism in my mind)... Why anyone would willingly embrace it when it's been proven a failure multiple times across the globe (many times leading to a dictatorship by committee and sometimes just a dictatorship) is baffling to me...[see Venezuela as an example]...

Now onto the Trump references:

I did vote for the guy..., I've never thought he was a fine fellow and was aware of his flaws for decades prior to the election but felt I was given no other choice (which covers how I feel about Hillary)...

That said, I don't move in lockstep with his every utterance... and still don't think he's much of a human being...

His being a scumbag doesn't make him wrong about China, NAFTA, Europe paying their fare share of their own defense, etc...

The thing I'm truly disappointed about is how long it took the Democrats to finally get serious about impeaching him (and I have my doubts that they are actually serious and are just using the process to tar and feather him just prior to the Presidential Election)...

I always thought he'd be gone in two and a half years and Pence would finish out the term... That the Dems would be as completely incompetent as they've been when it came to bagging him actually surprised me...

Totally unrelated to anything above but what I do see a silver lining in all this Trump-whack-a-mole over the past three years...: The fact that we were able to expose and get rid of some incredibly incompetent upper level folks at the FBI... That alone has to have made the country safer...

I actually think the Russians may have something on "the Donald"... // Didn't originally...// My guess is it has something to do with the money he borrowed from the oligarchs...

The fact that the Democrats have had the power of the entire Federal investigative services over a four year period (I'm including Obama's last year in office) and haven't uncovered it makes me question why I should ever want to vote for a Democrat again (I'm a center-right Independent voter)... since they're clearly inept at best...

Think that covers it...

I just want to pinpoint this: you think one party may actually be treasonously corrupt, but you are going to continue to vote for them because you can't support the party that has so far been unable to drum up enough proof of what you already think might be the case.

That's...mind-boggling.

Political Party = Personal Identity/Community

No different to some fanatical Hoosier fans where everyone cheats but us. (Others are bad, we good.)

Let me clear it up for you.

I think one party (the Democratic Party) is treasonously corrupt (and has been since the Clintons allowed the Chinese to get the Tech to create Multiple Reentry Warheads for their nuclear weapons) and that one guy (Trump) may be a problem that the Democrats have had 4 years to solve..., and that Is Mind boggling...

I think his long post was at least a step in the right direction. He largely agrees Trump is a crooked idiot. I am a bit surprised that his takeaway is to blame Democrats for not proving the crooked part.

But the admission is a far cry from what we get from Van or Sparty.

Not looking for further revelations, I hope the 7+ pain and self medication is temporary and not something you carry.

This place would be a ghost town if people followed that advise.

That was an unnecessarily long version of a “If those damn democrats would just not (insert reason for being/voting republican)”

Since when have we been paying China's defense? News to me!

As for Europe, if Russia hits Europe, and Europe could not defend itself, Europe would be Russian territory. We didn't want that. That is the reason why we have been helping them. But now, we are a friend of Russia, thanks to our perfect president. Therefore, we probably should stop helping Europe. Instead, we should help Russia to defend herself from European countries. Is that what you are proposing? That makes perfect sense to me! ;):(

What's it matter? "Trump is great and you are all liars!" and "Trump is an asshole, but the Dems are evil!" are both votes for Trump. When you're talking to a guy who will never, ever, ever abandon his team for any reason, no matter how corrupt his team becomes, then who cares what kind of meaningless crumbs of introspection he throws out?

You are in a debate, "resolved, the universe is 6000 years okd". Your opponent stands up and says that of course it is crazy to think the universe is only 6000 years old, but it is not 15 billion years old. I do not know about you, I stand up and take my victory bow and leave.

He has said that Trump is most likely corrupt, I do not care how he then rationalized his personal support. The larger question is answered. If Trump's biggest supporters argue that sure, he is in Putin's pocket but that is better than being a Democrat I think the 2020 election becomes a whole lot easier.

So you are blaming the entire Democrat Party for something you allege the Clintons did ( how exactly was Hillary involved here? ) decades ago. Yet in real live time you are seeing the GOP twist themselves into pretzels and make a spectacle of impeachment hearings to stand up for their clearly corrupt, incompetent leader. You might want to think on this a little more and where your allegiance should be during this period of time if you really care about your country.
