Why so long between NIT games?

Started Tuesday, not playing again till Saturday.

NCAA plays every other day, a fast pace (granted, they have 64 teams).

You'd think the NIT would want to move along, so people wouldn't be distracted by the bigger dance.

Just wondering.

NCAA teams are already all at the same site. I would guess some of it is to coordinate travel and such.

IU can win the NIT. Getting to Madison Square Garden in New York is the goal now. It is a better way to end the season than a play-in bracket loss in the NCAA Tournament.

I'm guessing this is the biggest reason.

Anything that extends this season and allows them to practice/play is good, all things considered.
