Was graduated from IU in 1965 (BA) and 1968 (MS). As a Hoosier, I couldn't be prouder watching jimmy Rahl, Steve Alford, Damon Bailey, and a host of other IU stars.

Do you remember Bill Russell, who arrived at IU in 1963? He

returned to Columbus after graduating in 1967 and we play golf at the same club. He is a great guy, who witnessed an anecdote in my newest golf book.

I did not know Bill Russell, but I do remember that Walt Bellamy lived in Wright Quadrangle, second floor, just down the hall from me. In those days Wright was a men's only dorm and "Smithwood" was a women's only dorm.

Rayl. Rayl. Rayl. Not Rahl. Aka "the Splendid Splinter"

Of course, with apologies to Ted Williams.

Great, great player.

I remember Russell. He was a starter, I beleive, my first two years at IU.

I remember, also, listening on the radio when he played in HS, possibly in the Finals?

You also got to watch the Vans and that great 65 team. No one

who followed IU sports back then will ever forget the Michigan game.

Frank Wilson Class of 73

He was from Bluffton and was recruited in the same class as Big George and Steve Downing. I've been a fan since then. Our Eckrich displays back then had scorecards you could pick up at the grocery stores and keep score as you watched the game. Anyone remember those?
Frank was a starter at guard with George but after BMK came the next year, along with Crews, Buckner, Bobby W and the rest, Frank didn't play very often his last 2 years.

Tom and Dick were two of IU's best forwards...and yes I still remember the Michigan game.
