Answer: Karl Marx

Who said this:

"An oppressed class which does not strive to learn to use arms, to acquire arms, only deserves to be treated like slaves. We cannot, unless we have become bourgeois pacifists or opportunists, forget that we are living in a class society from which there is no way out, nor can there be, save through the class struggle. In every class society, whether based on slavery, serfdom, or, as at present, wage-labor, the oppressor class is always armed. Not only the modern standing army, but even the modern militia—and even in the most democratic bourgeois republics, Switzerland, for instance—represent the bourgeoisie armed against the proletariat. That is such an elementary truth that it is hardly necessary to dwell upon it. Suffice it to point to the use of troops against strikers in all capitalist countries."

Answer: Vladimir Lenin

I'm no communist, and there is really no point to this post other than wing-nuts' claim that "socialists" will take their guns away...when the reality is that Marx, Engels, and Lenin...the architects of communism believed the workers should be heavily armed.

Maybe I'm arguing with myself as a gun control advocate. Just thought it was interesting.

Darn, was thinking it might be George Washington;) .

That makes sense. To a Freudian, everything is about sex. A gun couldn't be anything but a penis to them.
Wait, who’s a Freudian? I thought we were just posting “interesting” quotes? Why were you triggered? By your logic, the OP must be a Marxist. No wonder you’re a failed lawyer...

He’s Freud, no need to call him a Freudian. Nice backpedaling...
I'm not backpedaling. You posted Freud, so I responded to Freud. You thought I was calling you a Freudian? That's rich. I highly doubt you possess the mental capacity necessary to meaningfully subscribe to a particular psychological paradigm.

I shouldn’t engage in a battle of wits with someone that is unarmed...

Everyone who wants one is free to get one. That’s the beauty of it.

Yup, everyone is able to shoot up any place they want. Mentally challenged, here's your gun. past felon? sure, here's your gun.

Those deer don't stand a chance.

Thanks for nothing then.

AR-15s for everybody!!!
Nothing? The no Gun owners have been benefitting from people Like me since the country was founded. Potential gun ownership is a deterrent, how much is debatable. I wish more anti-gun folks like Hickory would more openly express their views in the form of signs in their yards, etc....

Pretty debatable when you look at the numbers. You guys aren't doing your job if you think it's deterring shit.

On 2nd thought, it's not debatable. The numbers show your opinion is bull shit.

In the 60s, the black power movement had some factions who were very much in to gun ownership and building stockpiles of weapons. That worried the racist white folks, tremendously.

I wonder, if US Muslims had a call to arms philosophy, whether we'd see an attutude among the Trumper cult of "hey, let's hold off on these gun rights for all... we need some sort of litmus test too. You need to be white and love bacon to pass"

Any data to support that? The US burglary rate seems on a par with countries with stricter gun control laws (eg, Canada link).

There isn’t a single issue or topic that you can’t wedge race into, is there?

Lenin confiscated the guns in 1918................

The point, which zoomed over your head, was that for many gun rights people, there can be a litmus as to who should qualify. One clear example from history is from the Black Power movement. There might be others, but dolts like you need a clear example, for you to have any hope of grasping it.

And yet, my soft toss clanged off your facemask.

I’m not sure what you’re babbling about here, but I got your point.

MY point was that you managed to shoehorn race AND Trump into a discussion which involved neither. Which is your specialty around here.

Also, you know as well as i do that there aren’t “many” gun rights people today who believe that race or religion should be a litmus test as to whether someone should be allowed to own a gun. That group was invented in your fevered imagination in order to racebait in this thread like you do in every other thread.

Actually, this is one topic where the race angle is pretty interesting. A lot of people assume California drives gun control trends because it's run by a bunch of pansy hippies, but the truth is all that gun control started in response to Huey Newton carrying a shotgun around.

Imagine how bad it would be if we didn’t have guns😜
While we’re at it, we should make hard drugs illegal too, then the bad guys will quit dealing them .😂

You forgot to mention Huey started the free breakfast program that fed thousands of poor kids!
or how he taught himself to read after a piss poor education system failed him.
