Which party wants to actually compromise?

Not a Republican voice that exists in reality.
This is certainly confusing...

When Mark replies (in Republican voice) about "namby-pamby shit"-you congratulate him

"So you DO admit it’s namby pamby shit at least. Good.

Useless garbage, is the phrase I would use but you’re making progress."

Now you're saying that the GOP voice which characterizes "namby-pamby shit" doesn't exist in reality? I agree that the real-life concerns of millions of families regarding various necessary upgrades are not "namby-pamby shit"...

Did you really not understand that Mark was posting a typical GOP response, not something he personally agrees with?

Hell, we know the measures the Dems want to fund are popular with most Americans. No doubt come the '22 midterms GOP candidates will be taking credit for voting for them, even though every single GOP Rep will have actually voted against them...

I'm telling you, Dan and Cray have dragged him down to their level. It's sad to see someone decline so rapidly.

Neither. And you know it. Even with your 10k word post, you know neither party want it. But you be you and write books on this forum.
Actually, the fact that Biden still supports the fillibuster is proof he still believes in bi-partisanship. For me, that ended when McConnell stole two SCOTUS judgeships- 1 each from Obama and Biden.

that would be an assumption as to why Biden supports the filibuster.

the filibuster insures nothing gets passed Wall St doesn't want passed.

More likely folks like you have dragged him down, if that was the case. I can name 3 hyper partisans from the left for every one you can from the right…

The irony is he’s responding to cosmic. That’s a poster every bit as partisan as the people he’s referencing.

I'm not convinced that Progressive is an appropriate term for some of today's politicians. It projects an image of being innovative and moving forward for the betterment of society. Socialism and Communism are not new ideas. They are failed government concepts that have not withstood the test of time and which have cost hundreds of millions of lives. First, determine what a politician is actually espousing and then give them an accurate label. Bernie is a a socialist at best, communist at worst. AOC is a socialist/communist, who is a moron and best, and an idiot at worst. Some of the others just seem to hate the United States. A progressive, should, at least, love our country and want to improve it. Have you heard any of the current "progressives" say they love the US?

Now, do the GOP, since you aimed this post at "politicians".

Mark, I get that I’ve posted a lot the last couple days (slow at work) and put the air out of a lot of Democratic balloons. What I did to Cos in the TX voting bill thread should probably carry a criminal penalty.

No worries on you’re end. Work will pick back up again soon, I won’t be able to post as much and you guys can go back to believing you’re right without my pesky interference.

To my original point. The Republican that votes for the infrastructure bill knowing they’ll likely be backdoored on reconciliation is a stupid dupe that only exists in your and Cos’s imagination.

I’d say he stole the first one, not the second. The second would have happened in any situation where the President and Senate were controlled by the same party. I think they should have voted on Garland. If the Republicans had done that and stuck together he would have been voted down, but that probably wouldn’t have happened.

I have a confession to make. I don't take this board very seriously, so I don't put a whole lot of time into any one response. If I did, I'd be on here 24X7. I say what I think and try to back it up with facts, but I admit I don't put the time into my responses like @IUCrazy2 or @HooDatGuy or you do. I will if I feel I'm having a conversation with someone who wants a give-and-take, but most leftists here are only spouting talking points, and I don't have much patience for that. You must have the patience of Job.

I know I'll get all kinds of immature responses to this post - I couldn't care less. But I want you to know I appreciate a lot of all y'all's serious - and effective - responses to the leftists.

you're in the lineup. you play out wide right. cray behind you. we've got coh coaching. mtiof up top. me and hdg play in the middle with courtsense. iucrazy jdb spartans and npt in back with aloha in goal. we don't play a left winger. we'd rather look at open space than a left winger.

we've tried recruiting ranger and twenty but they're holdouts for more dough. stoll comes in at the 60 minute mark with jet

Yeah, I left out @Spartans9312 and @NPT and the others. Good liineup. I imagine we'd kill it in a beer league. lol

You make good points. My problem with the 3rd appointee is the way the same Republicans who whined that it wasn't right to nominate an SC Justice in Obama's final year during an election turned around and hypocritically advocated for Trump to be able to. Scalia died in Feb and there were about 10 mos left, while RBG died in Sept and they couldn't wait to fill her seat...

I know McConnell used the "opposing Party" excuse in 2020, but I don't remember that being used in 2016. In 2016 it was all "no nominees in an election year"...

Can you refresh me on this one? I'm pretty sure I listed the provisions that both myself and the TX Dems find restrictive. I think all you did was disagree, which just means we have differing political ideologies...

How about that TX Senate? They just voted to promote the revision of History, where apparently people like Susan B Anthony and MLK no longer exist in a social studies curriculum... Guess that makes you proud?

As long as you're throwing self accolades around regarding your justification for suppressing the vote in Texas, you might want to help Greg Abbott out. He positively made a flaming wreck out of his answer to Chris Wallace's inquiry as to why he wanted to suppress the vote in Texas...

Is he really trying to say that the US Constitution delineated between states and counties as to election authority? Was there even such a creature as counties in 1788- most historians trace their advent to the years subsequent to 1790, 2 yrs after the Constitution was ratified. Abbott is taking the delineation of powers between the Federal and state govt, and unilaterally trying to claim that it somehow applies to counties within the state.

But there is definitely no mention of "counties" anywhere in AR1 Sec 4...And to bring up the issue of voter id and to talk about how successful it was in Texas? That can't help but beg the question of why do you need to ALTER something that you're touting as a huge success?

And to claim that drive-thru and 24 hr voting should be banned for inane claims like "people in your car" and "no partisan observers" is just mealy-mouth nonsense. If Plenty of other states successfully engage in 24 hr voting, what are the issues particular to Texas that make it susceptible to fraud?

His whole justification is a Hot Mess and just makes him look foolish. I wonder how much his fear of a wingnut Primary challenge plays into his championing of this nonsense? At any rate, he definitely needs help from you or some other halfway intelligent spokesperson...

Looking at how badly he got his ass kicked by everyone in the "Chairman of the Joint Chiefs" thread, I'm sure glad he's on your team.

I can’t read all these threads. Too many immovable objects. I baked in the heat and humidity for five hours yesterday at an ID camp just to get a break from my stoker and own children. I’m counting down the calendar for school to start again

Well, I hate soccer. As a catcher, I'd call for one in your ear . . .
