When Devonte is the toughest player you have

Personally I don't want to hear about vertical jumps and crap that doesn't translate to the game. I'm 5'10" on a good day but I could rebound because I had two things this team lacks, fundamentals and heart. My coach told me once that my hustle alone was why I was a starter.

Screw these ridiculous athletes that seem to care more about their hair style then getting physical in a ball game.

I'd keep maybe three guys off this team, the rest can walk home.

Devonte’s one of the few kids who played with pride and left everything he had on the floor today.

Matched and often exceeded the effort and tenacity the OSU players brought.

Almost everyone else on IU’s team played like pansies.

You're bald right? I mean, it would take a bald person to somehow relate hair to basketball.

Or is there another reason their hair offends you? Hmmm, I wonder what it could be..

Settle down, Cue Ball.....

Why am I not surprised I would have to explain to you. You're in luck though, I don't care if you understand. Now you can come back with some cutesy little retort that makes you feel superior.....blah, blah, blah.

hello ignore.

Because IU is the only team in D1 who’s players have hair like that. It’s the popular style now. Go back and watch games from the 90s...they all look like they have a damn block on their head. Guess what, that was the popular style back then.

Look like clowns play like clowns, Duke players don't have hair like us.

Feeling superior to one such is you is just inherent, like male pattern baldness. Blame your parents for the faulty genes that caused your baldness and social ineffectiveness. Here's a clue though to help you sound less irrational.. Hairstyle has absolutely nothing to do with basketball. It makes you look petty mentioning it.

Have a good day and make sure to wear a hat if the sun is out.

This is not true at all. Why then does the military have a standard haircut. You my friend are clueluess idiot Millennial.

What exactly does that have to do with anything? If you're going to continue with these blathering nonsensical posts, maybe take a break and check out for a little while...you know...like you do when Indiana wins a few games in a row...

Green's game translates better to a neighborhood playground than it does to a college arena. He was hot today, not yesterday or tomorrow. His lazy one armed pass to the Ohio State player standing at the half court line killed us at the end of the game. He's the epitome of a streaky shooter.

So does Archie's coaching, it's fast break transition basketball that has no idea how to run a half court set, well unless he's playing Illinois or Rutgers.

and davis' great post entry pass to wesson

17 turnovers are on everyone. When Rob doesn't play well we really struggle.

Green and Davis had 4 turnovers each... can't have that but I agree, we need Rob to play well to be a good team. I honestly would have expected Romeo to be a "take over" guy with the hype he had coming in. In that respect he's been a disappointment.

To be fair in that play he was screaming at Romeo and Durham to get back and help, which they didn't and then they both almost didn't the next time down.

That was one of many back breakers.

yikes, that was a bad one.......it just seems like a mindset that permeated the whole team all year. Just not really completely focused. No fierceness with the ball. A couple of times today Morgan was just dribbling across the lane an basically one-armed it to OSU. What the hell WAS that, anyway? And twice? From our most experienced player? Losing every 50-50 ball? Just real half-assed stuff for 2 years running. One OSU player out-fighting 2 IU players time after time. Same old thing from this roster/set of players from HH 2017 to today. Distressing.

It makes me wonder how much this is on Archie. Players should be disciplined by now such that Green doesn't need to yell for his teammates to get back to help advance the ball.

The fact they had 6 quad 1 wins and still will not be making the tourney pretty much says it’s a coaching issue, cause clearly there were some players

That is absolutely the question----how much of this is on Archie, and how much of it is on having an impossible roster to work with?

I really thought coming in that Archie was a tough guy. Already read on an OSU article after the game that he was talking about our "impossible schedule". Jeez.

I saw him say that on the post game BTT show. I finally figured out he was pleading IU's case for making the NCAA tournament which seems like a pipe dream to me. Regarding the "tough guy" comment, I do wonder what the players think of him. The Nebraska coach looked like such a fun guy in the locker room after they won and I was wondering if Archie would have been as glib if IU had won, or would he have kept his "all B" game face even in victory. We know so little about him after two years. He's a pretty quiet guy, unlike...I won't go there - it makes the younger IU fans mad when his name is mentioned.

Has Devonte Graduated???? My guess is his motivation was becoming a grad transfer prospect

FWIW, it's 5 quad 1 wins now that Marquette has taken a late season swan dive. I'm not sure all the Crean recruits bought into the firing of their coach. There might have been some lingering resentment. The bottom line is IU was an enigmatic team with an enigmatic leading scorer.

Green kept us in the game. The entire game. Then he triggered the frantic comeback at the end and almost shot us to a win.

He's sorry he made a few mistakes that upset you.

The kid has played GREAT the last several games.

He and Davis have toughness. Rob will be good. Need to recruit.
Devonte makes risky plays and sometimes takes ill advised shots, but he doesn't play scared and doesn't go into his shell after a mistake. He drives me crazy too often, but I like his nerve. He might be good if he learns to value the ball.

he has been a lot better than good the last 5 games

Here are some random thoughts after a disappointing regular season.

Injuries - disappointing but it is what it is.

Romeo - really pull for him since he is from the same area I reside. Someone posted that they are surprised he didn’t take over games more often especially due to the hype he has received. I couldn’t agree more. We needed Romeo to play like a lottery pick. More often than not, he has not come close to playing like a lottery pick. There are a lot of limitations to his game but in a few months he will go high in the draft and I hope he does well. We just didn’t get our lottery pick’s worth with his play.

Morgan - gave IU another good year playing out of position.

RP - tough game today. But had a pretty solid year.

Green - streaky shooter, plays hard on defense, struggles with decision making.

Durham - had a decent year. We need more consistency from him shooting the ball. He does play extremely hard which always seems consistent.

Smith - probably the most maligned player on the team. I could care less about the vertical. That is a very overrated quality. Wesson can’t jump over a phone book but was way more effective today. I would like to see Justin live in a gym and work as hard as he possibly can and polish up those rough edges (ball handling, shooting, passing). He can improve. I’m not giving up on him.

Davis - glad to see him continue to get more healthy. I hate to see injuries rob any kid or athlete of any age from excelling to be their best. He will be vital to next yeat’s success.

Thompson - curious to see what he can bring to the table next year. He has given us some good minutes this year.

Anderson - someone mentioned that he is a good shooter in another post. That may have been true last year in high school. But not this season. He is a freshman and might be able to help if he can get a lot of shots up this summer. I saw him and Aaron Henry play in high school. I know it was mentioned on this board before we had our choice and we went with Anderson. Not sure if that is true but that decision was a miss if that is in fact true. Henry was better in high school but maybe didn’t project as well in college. Not sure what went into that decision making. Anderson still might be productive. Too early to tell.

Coach Miller - the January and February IU had was brutal. Really unacceptable for IU expectations. However, I am one that believes CAM should be allowed to get a full slate of players he recruits and then see what the results are before looking elsewhere for a coach. I really hope like the rest of the posters that there is considerable improvement next season. Not making the NCAA tourney is not an option.

I love March Madness. Even more so when the Hoosiers are in the tourney....

If I were a betting man this is where my money would go. I think Miller was stuck, that's why I don't lay all of this season on him.

Remember when Harris Mujzinavich (sp?) came out and said Neil Reed would intentionally do the opposite of what Knight said in the huddle?

Even great coaches lose kids, I think a few of these guys have been zoned out for a while.

I think we might be shocked who those players might be too.......that wouldn’t do as Archie said

One of the best summaries I have seen.

He'll drive you nuts as a point guard but.... he's actually not too shabby as a shooting guard.

Hopefully Rob can play 34 minutes a game at the point and Green can just be Green as a scoring guard that's a senior who can play a little defense and make great post entry feeds.

Just minimize the amount of dribbling.
