Please list the ones you've used or heard good things about in the past.

I'd like to add this to the LTF for future reference.

Thanks for the help, OTF.

Questions

1. If I download these, do I still need Norton or MacAfee?
2. Will these slow down my computer?
3. Will these "prevent' viruses or just remove them after they get in my stuff?

4. Waht is the meaning/difference between "definition" and "behavior" based?

Re: Questions

1. If I download these, do I still need Norton or MacAfee? No.
2. Will these slow down my computer? No.
3. Will these "prevent' viruses or just remove them after they get in my stuff? Prevent
4. What is the meaning/difference between "definition" and "behavior" based? "Definition Based" means that the antivirus is dependent upon identifying a known threat, the information is provided to the program through updates to the virus definitions database. "Behavior Based" refers to the programs ability to detect threats based upon their activity.

It's advisable to run both types of antivirus on your system, because no definition based antivirus has a 100% detection rate, so the behavior based system picks up what slips through the primary program.

Thanks = Another Question

1. Download them all, or 1 of each kind?

2. When I scanned with Threatfire it said "Norton is on". Should I turn Noton off, or will these "work with" Norton? If I turn Norton off, will my computer get faster?

Thanks.

One of each.

no more, no less.

btw, Norton is crap. get rid of it - and Threatfire will work with Norton, but the others will cause a conflict.
