This administration, ran by Whitten, will continue the slow ride down towards hell. We all know why this is going to continue to happen, only some will admit it.the whole we are holier than thou argument dies with woodson. He may have gone to iu but he is not iu at all this crap happens under him. Oh we cant hire beard but lets keep woodson who is a joke regarding iu and tradition. Woodson is not iu at all he lets this crap happen and does nothing. losing don is pretty bad i mean really bad.
Pretty much. This administration, ran by Whitten, will continue the slow ride down towards hell. We all know why this is going to continue to happen, only some will admit it.
Do tell. Personally, in Pam Whitten, I see someone who has a keen interest in athletics. I could see your slow ride to hell scenario with McRobbie. He had zero interest in sports. He probably came close to loathing the Athletic Department. This administration, ran by Whitten, will continue the slow ride down towards hell. I understand what you keep implying, but I really don’t think there is a political/racial component to all of this. If Woodson is retained, it will be because Dolson was too timid to fire a coach this soon, especially an IU guy/legend.This administration, ran by Whitten, will continue the slow ride down towards hell. Don't think the $$ isn't a real obstacle on the heels of Allen's buyout, and saving face after just giving CMW a $1 million raise earlier this year. Saving face... the Achille's Heel of the bureaucrat. Have to find a booster willing to pay off Woody's buyout. I think he'll be here another year and just hope we don't blow our chance with May/Beard or whoever our white knight might be because of it.I understand what you keep implying, but I really don’t think there is a political/racial component to all of this. Someone posted that the $1mm raise was 'built in" Woodson's contract as an incentive (getting to the NCAA tournament) and the Dolson didn't "give him a raise" per se. Does anyone know if this is accurate?Don't think the $$ isn't a real obstacle on the Heels of Allen's buyout, and saving face after just giving CMW a $1million raise earlier this year. I theorized that and posted my theory as the only thing that made sense, but I had no knowledge if that was true. Not sure if it was my post you are referring to, but that was the only thing that made sense to me, but not at all based on fact or even hearsay.Someone posted that the $1mm raise was 'built in" Woodson's contract as an incentive (getting to the NCAA tournament) and the Dolson didn't "give him a raise" per se. Maybe the old saying "I refuse to coach players who make more than I do."I theorized that and posted my theory as the only thing that made sense, but I had no knowledge if that was true. great! getting headlines for....
That was Brand. His ego was threatened by RMK. McRobbie was indifferent. He didn't want to deal with any scandals, but beyond that he didn't really care.Do tell. It was not. It was a raise. I believe it’s the money that was due miller. They decided to give it to Woody. Here’s his contract.Someone posted that the $1mm raise was 'built in" Woodson's contract as an incentive (getting to the NCAA tournament) and the Dolson didn't "give him a raise" per se. The entire BOT that hired Brand should have been fired and lifetime bans from IU.That was Brand. His ego was threatened by RMK. McRobbie was indifferent. He didn't want to deal with any scandals, but beyond that he didn't really care.
Ehhh…Knight was getting more and more defiant. He wanted complete control. He was starting to cost the athletic department money with his “no sponsors” rules. I get it. Everyone wanted the 72-94 knight but he wasn’t available anymore. He stopped recruiting and doing layups. Easy button stuff. The Knight relationship with the university was sour long before 2000. It was inevitable to get ugly regardless of who was president. The entire BOT that hired Brand should have been fired and lifetime bans from IU.

What Gunn did was inexcusable, but Klesmit should've gotten a technical foul himself.
McRobbie is Australian, so he probably had a difficult time with the obsession of college sports teams in America. College athletics in Australia is not popular. That was Brand. His ego was threatened by RMK. McRobbie was indifferent. He didn't want to deal with any scandals, but beyond that he didn't really care.
I agree with your account. I think they should have called a standard double foul and told the both of them to just knock it off. Poor officiating. What Gunn did was inexcusable, but Klesmit should've gotten a technical foul himself.
Last night's replay showed Klesmit sticking his head into Gunn's face, then backing off and then again sticking his head into Gunn's face a second time. Gunn then used his elbow to push Klesmit away, and Klesmit reacted with a fake lurch worthy of a soccer player.
The replay in this link shows only Klesmit's second episode of sticking his head into Gunn hard enough that you can see it moved Gunn's body, while Klesmit is looking down instead of watching the floor so he could defend the play. Klesmit was not trying to play defense.
I couldn't find a video showing the entire sequence, but Klesmit was playing a little bit dirty and Gunn fell for it.
Greg Garde coaches players to play aggressively. Here's a blast from the past:

Brad Davison's dirty play, Kobe King's defection throw Wisconsin into disarray
Brad Davison is a dirty player and someone needs to call him on it.www.nbcsports.com
We figured out how to get a rep for dirty play and still not be tough. We got a rep. Now refs will be looking for them.
If you get a chance to watch the replay, scroll forward to when this incident happened (about 12 or 13 minutes left in second half).and watch the whole thing.I agree with your account. I don't buy this new angle of #1 in flagrant fouls. IU does not play dirty. Some of those calls are unfounded or fluke.
Actually that was right after Wiscy punk when on a personal 12 point run. After the Sparks steal and layup things had already gone to complete sh!t by the time the F2 was called. If you get a chance to watch the replay, scroll forward to when this incident happened (about 12 or 13 minutes left in second half).and watch the whole thing.
As soon as Gunn pushed his face away, Gard started screaming and pointing and a Wisconsin assistant coach in a pink/peach suit jumped up and started yelling and pointing. But Wisconsin's bench players were laughing.
I'd love to know what Wisconsin's players were told during that timeout. IU was still putting up a fight until then.
