Are we sure the suspensions were for only one game? Does anyone know what Dutra's status is? I'm really surprised more details haven't surfaced.
According to this mornings H-T, Wilson wont say if any of the nine players will ever be back. Totally mum...okay, now its worry time. This would be a blow IU cannot withstand. Its time Coach tell us the situation, not player specifics, just general status of all players and team. Letting this hang in the air can't have good results, no matter the truth.
Given the IU President's dressing down about these types of issues, I imagine Glass has a heavy interest in this and is in on the decision process (maybe even McRobbie is being consulted) and a decision hasn't been made yet. Loss of these guys for very long will be devastating.According to this mornings H-T, Wilson wont say if any of the nine players will ever be back. Totally mum...okay, now its worry time. For most of those suspended, it's not coincidental as it relates to the circumstances of two former IU athletes. Allegedly.I just looked at the press release about Devin Davis dismissal. The same phrase was used. Not living up to their responsibilities to the team. I wonder if that is a coincidence...
That chill may be rigor mortisA chill went up my spine when I read your post. Too close to Halloween for this crap.
Most will return. Dutra not sure what's up with him. Scales was a two game suspension so he will be out again. Are we sure the suspensions were for only one game? Does anyone know what Dutra's status is? I'm really surprised more details haven't surfaced.
Nothing that hasn't happened in the past. Just a crackdown by upper admin who have been given an ultimatum to clean it up or else they are gone. What the heck is going on with IU student atheletes? Is it recruiting mistakes or have HS kids taken a serious turn for the worse? Glad my wife retired from teaching 2 yrs now. Bad bunch she says.
The standards haven't changed and there's no greater emphasis now than in the past. There's a protocol in place and it's being followed.Nothing that hasn't happened in the past. Just a crackdown by upper admin who have been given an ultimatum to clean it up or else they are gone.
LOL! You are quite the comedian Mr. Glass. Keep thinking that nothing has changed, because I know differently. I'd actually agree with you on the football side. Wilson has always been tough on offenses that break the code of conduct. The suspensions last week and this week all date back to things that happened since the season ended last year, but if you really think that nothing has changed on in other sports, you are kidding yourself. People are trying to save their jobs, yet promoting even worse activity during tailgating. Typical lawyer stuff. The standards haven't changed and there's no greater emphasis now than in the past. And you're quite uninformed, as you've demonstrated in numerous posts. You have no insight on this matter.LOL! You are quite the comedian Mr. Glass. Not sure what holding out players from game does--who is affected ? Yes, the player--but how about the rest of the team ? Would think coaches and or team mates could do something to get them back on the right track--I feel fairly positive that the SIU game would not have been nearly as close as it was had Latham and Scales and the other players been in the game--so who was hurt by holding them out ? Sure those guys--but what about the rest of the team--my suggestion--find another way to affect the individual and not the rest--especially if the transgression was not something that could could warrant their being dismissed from the team or school. i really don't care what you believe. Please don't respond unless you have something of substance to offer. By the way, I don't come close to sharing everything I know and hear about. Not close. And you have never once demonstrated ANY SINGLE reason why people should believe your "insights" are credible.
And if you are actually credible, why does someone with so much inside information feel the need to constantly check and post on this message board?
