We should invite these guys to the Cooler

Hasn’t that always been the case? South Florida (Atlantic side) has always been full of people from NY and Jersey.
For sure. But not like this past year. The inventory of houses on the market has taken a nose dive. We’ve been looking since just before the pandemic.

He's saying Texas is being urbanized, and there's no indication these new urbanites are going to vote Republican. I was pointing out that this urbanization is partially a result of transplants from other states, which are largely moving to cities, not to the country. So add 2 + 2 and you get Blue.
I add that 2+2 and get supid

Slightly off topic, but I’ll leave this here before a Southern Indiana Trumplican posts their obligatory “California is a socialist mess and in massive debt” nonsense.

A $15 billion surplus during a pandemic is impressive. Fact is, California is a very well ran state, fiscally. There are some safeguards in place that would make traditional conservatives proud.
California HHS: "California is slowly starting to emerge from the most dangerous surge of this pandemic yet. Californians heard the urgent message to stay home when possible and our surge after the December holidays did not overwhelm the health care system to the degree we had feared."
Gov. Newsome: "Today we can start to see some real light at the end of the tunnel."

I actually wonder. Same with fla. we’ll see. Homestead. No state income. Cheap college. Will be interesting what they look like in a decade

these hypocrites accept and even push liberal policies until it becomes their own detriment, then move and restart the cycle of stupidity.

several prominent socially progressive bankers are now Fla residents. Only a matter of time before taxes explode down there

No words for how it infuriates me.

When the alternative is Beto, they kind of had no choice. I felt no shame voting Cruz in 2018, that’s for sure.
Favorables from Data for Progress Poll of Texas Voters:
Cruz 49/42
Beto 33/46
Trump 48/51
Biden 48/49
The poll also said 51% want Cruz to resign.
51% want Cruz to resign and he's still more popular than the other 3.

Yeah but one is an elected official in the most powerful political body in the world and the other gets high and writes jokes. What the hell is this country coming to. Can you imagine Tip O’Neil or Bob Dole doing this shit.
You can say what you want about Tip O'Neil, but Bob Dole was just a party brother.

Seems to be in the middle of the pack per this:

At first glance with Tennessee ranking 1st in long term fiscal stability, I assumed it to mean if you have no money and anticipate never having any money, you’re fiscally stable!

Seriously, I can see some states including California having a mixed outlook on fiscal stability. The article hit the nail on the head. Future pension obligations. It’s an albatross that needs to be dealt with. I know a few people that retired from city government jobs, with one being a firefighter. They make big bucks to retire relatively young.

So true. The amount of Stl city cops receiving lifetime pay from the pension board for blown out knees etc is incredible. City EEs retiring at 40 with 50 percent pay for life etc. it’s an enormous drain

I don’t know if that’s true. Austin is picking up silicon tech and Miami is picking up Wall Street types. No state income, business friendly, Covid allowing folks to work from home with big lots is pushing the move. I have zero reason to believe they’re bringing progressive anything with them. Ellison isn’t. Musk isn’t.
Perhaps a blending that works.
