Get off my lawn
In the last 4 min of the first half, and last 8 min of second half.

I don't have time to do the research and the math, but I bet of the 80 min in two games combined, we we winning for 65 of those 80 minutes (or at least...not losing). In both games, we lost our momentum in the last 4 min of the first half (after outplaying them), and then fell on our di%ks in the final 8 minutes.

I'll do X a favor and not combine his stat lines for the two games. It has to be ugly.

got to digest the box score a little...deciding factor in the final score was fouls and free throws.
We hit one more FG and one more 3pt FG than Wiscky. they had 2 more rebounds and 1 more TO. Call that a wash. Side note- TJD with zero off Rebounds.

Fouls IU 25 Wisky 16
FT attempts. IU 18. Wisky 29

With X horrid shooting, Kopp vanishing yet again, and Stewart getting conned by Davison into punk ball....Wisky won this game at the FT line.

The team with the more disciplined guards won.

Yeah, I've never seen a team appear to care so little about giving up leads to end the half. Play a good half and then piss it away and not seem to care in the last 3 minutes.

both teams did a lot of fouling. Wisky guards push off on nearly every cut, every drive.
The difference is they are good at it...just subtle enough to get away with it. Two of the push offs called on Parker after his run in with Davison were just stupid head plays. And that was after CMW got into his grill after the dust up.

It’s 12 turnovers ugly. I’ll leave off his shooting numbers which could be worse if you can imagine.

X is a frustrating player, and the book was out on him. “He doesn’t play winning basketball” I realize he had a nice stretch which sort of makes the lows more frustrating.

The curfew crew really f’ed this team over. Doubt they have the balls to recover from this.

yep there was absolutely NO excuse for us going into the locker room last night, down 2 pts. I don't know if they get the lead, hear the crowd, and then lose focus...not sure what the problem is. But it's not a sign of a mentally tough team. We have a couple guys who seem to be struggling keeping their emotions in check, and at this level (and against teams like MSU and Wisky) you know damn well the other team senses it and goes for the throat.

Parker and X played undisciplined…especially down the stretch.
Wisconsin’s guards maintained their composure until the job was completed.
Game over and then they celebrate.

Race got his 2nd foul

Brad Davison lives to embarrass guys like Stewart, Bates, and Geronimo. You can hate him all you want but he wins and they lose.

The foul Geronimo committed on him may be the dumbest play of the season.

Credit to WI, and I think it's how every team must feel, but they didn't seem any more worried than a big brother playing his little brother in the driveway. "Hey, little guy has some game, but now it's time for me to play..." That's what really drives me crazy: our guys have to know the entire rest of the league sees them as complete p*ssies, and yet we seem to play like it every game. I'd love to have a tape recording of IL, Rutgers, WI, OSU, MSU or PU to play for our guys of them discussing IU players. I KNOW exactly what they are saying.

I like fire in a team, but damn, I'm also over chest thumping and flexing. If we got points for that, I think we'd be leading the big 10! I could do with a little less flexing and a little more making at the FT line for instance. Chest thumping is for after the game, but of course if you win, you don't even need to do it then, just look at the scoreboard and smile!

Not to beat a dead horse but Wisconsin probably has a dozen games this year where they have made the plays down the stretch to pull out a close one. Last I looked they were down to 8th nationally in “luck”, but “luck” can also be spelled D-A-V-I-S.

imagine if we had a player that could create his own shot and score our final 13 points (or whatever it was)?

Wisconsin is annoying, pesky, irritating, dirty, etc.

second game in a row where we have said that about our opponent. But, I don’t see us as innocent bystanders either. We get chippy, and If we can’t cool down I fear we have a player or two that will eventually do something really bad. We need to be better at fighting through adversity, keeping cool and playing smart.

Unfortunately, that’s exactly what Wisconsin did last night. They were in our heads all game, and it was a factor in the end.

I’m still not sure if the call was right — my biased eyes say the call was wrong… but the “and-1” that Davis got in the final minute was a huge call. It looked clear as day to be on the floor. And he traveled.

he has shown some flashes in the past. but last night was just awful.

TJD had a big game. Race was steady (aside from one very ill-advised 3 pt attempt which was a huge momentum shift). The rest of the team flat out sucked.
I'd give credit to Galloway too. I know his 3 pt throws (I'm not calling them "shots"!) were glaring, but he kept us in a ton of plays too. If Parker Stewart wanted to "show" Davison something, then a dagger 3 on one of those last possessions would have been it. Instead we have I believe our worst perimeter shooter taking two 3's at the end. You know Gard was smiling on the bench.

PS. imagine a game of 3 pt HORSE between Galloway and Thompson. Is there a "low" in HORSE? And yes, I'd freely admit either would beat me now, but I am 56 with shoulder problems and struggle to get it to the rim from 3.

TJD did a much better job of passing out of the double teams, was much better at the line. Coach W commented on his “unselfish” play in the post game, nice compliment as he had 30 (?).

as has been mentioned, X took 3 more shots than TJD. TJD was pretty efficient in his 30, X was the opposite.

Gard was smiling as soon as Stewart went after Davison.
Showed lack of discipline.

A. we got totally hosed in the final 90 seconds between the review and the 'and-1' with Davis.

B. we shouldn't have been in the position to be hosed by the refs on our home court. We should have been up 6-8 pts and hitting FTs to seal the win.

In the examples above...."A" teams go to the NIT. "B" teams go to the big boy tourney.

I would almost guarantee the coaches keys to the included: Do not take the bait from Davison

This shit is basketball 101 and he’s been doing it for 5 years.

IU needs to recruit guys who understand the game.
Everyone wants the quick fix…the transfer portal.
The program will be built internally or it won’t be built. Hopefully Woodson goes this route.
