Way Back Wednesday: What a remarkable story and moment in time

What an incredible story. I love the fact that the photographer phoned for an ambulance first, and then took pictures second. A real human response. Thanks for sharing.
I saw he called back to the paper to have them call for the ambulance. Was there 911 in those days? Or was it better to have the paper call (maybe they knew people at the hospital). I honestly have no idea.

Edit: I'm really lazy but I looked it up. 911 wasn't invented/rolled out until 1968. First location - Huntington, IN.
