Season started with a waxing of Texas in Austin. T. Pigrome went 9-12 for 175 yards and blew out his ACL in the third quarter. Replacing Pigrome was true freshman Kasim Hill, wo went 18-21 230 yards in parts of 3 games before ALSO having a season ending injury in the 3rd game of the season. On of those games was against Townson, so....

They guy that replaced them was Max Bortenschlager, who didn't throw another pass at Maryland after that season. Hill and Pigrome returned in 2018. Both were fairly dynamic dual-threat QBs.

In 2016 at Maryland, QB was mainly Peyton Hills (Pigrome hurt again, I think) and he completed 62% of his passes and had a 12/4 TD to INT ratio and 140 rating.

I seem to recall Maryland being fairly dangerous on offense early in that 2017 year and then...the injuries took their toll at the QB position. Sound familiar?

I'm not going to hold the UMASS thing against anyone. What a mess and an impossible situation.

So like any hire, I wait and see before I make a judgement.
