LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Lane Kiffin, a “booster’s wife”, Nick Saban’s daughter Kristen Saban, Lane’s wife Layla Kiffin, and Sarah Jean Underwood are battling false reports today. But is it all Collin Cowherd’s play for radio ratings? College Football today is circulating more larger than life storylines than five minutes of Empire with enough head shaking SMH moments than an episode of Catfish. None of the allegations and tales are true, but they are crazy enough to be the storyline in a bad Reality TV Show. For now, Lane Kiffin has not been fired at Alabama, and his Wikipedia page is getting more facelifts hourly than a member of Real Housewives.

First, Alabama Football has not fired Lane Kiffin. Second, Layla Kiffin, Lane Kiffin’s wife, has not separated from her offensive coordinator husband. Third, pictures circulating online purporting to be “Nick Saban’s Daughter Kristen Saban” are actually of Sarah Jean Underwood, a Playboy model and Playmate of the Year 2007. Fourth, nothing has happen between Lane Kiffin and a “booster’s wife”, or between Lane Kiffin and Nick Saban’s daughter. And finally, Lane Kiffin is not dead. Rather, someone is editing up his Wikipedia page and reporting his date of death as today.

Ironically, while someone has been attacking his Wikipedia page today, Kiffin has been trending on social media all day with the above five allegations. But on Wikipedia, there is no mention of the edits and corrections in the talk page.

But who is fueling the gossip? Colin Cowherd with a new radio show was tweeting up about it. Cowherd spread the junk by tweeting “Oh my. Interesting rumors out there w Alabama football.” Apparently some were baffled. One responded to Cowherd “can I get a link online? Been a disaster trying to find the show at work”. One asked Cowherd to launch an investigative report on the matter. “Make some calls… you have an in with Kiffin right?” Many called it a ratings game by Cowherd. “Keep trying to stir the pot and get those ratings. Good try”. And then came the shade back. “The rumor is that you begged Saban to be on your show, and his response was ‘Colin Who?'”
