He didn't want the job
They asked him about that after the IU job was filled ... he didn't want the job. He didn't mention his sister that was fired from IU. It was more about the amount of rebuilding, the condition of the program at the time. He had already gone through somewhat of a rebuilding job at Wazzu. Of course not nearly as bad as IU's but still a tough job with a losing history.
Bottom line ... it wasn't even close that Bennett would take the IU job.
