I always chuckle when I read stuff like if this and this happens we could be 5-0.

Rumors were that he was offered LSU and ND and turned both down. UC gave him a contact extension and upped his pay to 5 mil a season. Them joining the Big 12 and having a few kids near HS age was enough to keep him.

Every game will be a challenge, improvement is needed in several areas but if the D can keep us in games, the O can develop. (we hope)

I was surprised ND didn't go after Fickell when Kelly left. Jury is still out on Freeman imo. Freeman was the DC at PU in the horrible Hazel years so his track record isn't exactly stellar.

He made it clear when he was approached by all of those schools as one of their top candidates that he’s good at UC. The USC AD was his former boss at UC, and he turned him down quickly. And he was already the interim guy at OSU.
