U.S. Political Party Preferences Shifted Greatly During 2021

True. She is toast.

Abrams follows a long line of Democrats who have also ignored the mask mandates they purportedly support at their own convenience, including San Francisco Mayor London Breed (D), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), and New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D).

Georgia gubernatorial candidate, former Sen. David Perdue (R-GA), pounced after Abrams’ appearance, slamming her and Democrats in an “Unmask Our Kids” digital ad and changing his Twitter header to the now famous image of a maskless Abrams surrounding by masked up elementary school children. The photo includes the caption, “Unmask Our Kids.”
It was a stupid move on her part, and it would likely hurt her more against Kemp than Perdue. I doubt many of the people who will be swayed by this would have voted for her anyway...

But in the end, I think having her on the ballot is important whether she wins or loses .She motivates voters, esp women, which will serve as a contrast to Walker and help Warnock in the same Atlanta suburbs where he beat Loeffler by getting nearly 70% of the vote in 2021. If women in the suburbs didn't vote for Loeffler (which is why Kemp nominated her in the first place) against Warnock, they aren't going to vote for a man whose wife accused him of abuse long before he even became a politician.

Herschel is going to breeze in the GOP Primary, but the abuse allegations and the gun incidents will become huge issues in the general. Especially with suburban women who don't like Trump and likely aren't crazy about voting for a wife beater over a preacher...Stacey being a part of the campaign will help to keep that issue in the forefront with those suburban women...

I see Walker winning by 3- 6 points and you can hold me to that. If everything was rosy and the economy was just cruising along yeah the suburban women would all be voting based on feelings but if things stay the way they are this will be an election based on real issues like inflation, crime, mandates, gas prices, immigration, etc. The repubs who sat out the runoff willl likely be voting again and I am pretty sure enough suburban women will shift that Warnock will lose and Abrahams will as well. Just look at VIrginia the dems tried to make the election all about Trump is it backfired big time. Trump is not on the ballot and Hershel is well liked in Georgia. And the issues you mention people tend to overlook when there are other real issuse hitting their pocket books. All the way back to Bill Clinton we have seen politicians with women issues that really did not do anything to them popularity wise. Politicians get elected all the time with shady pasts.

Loeffler lost because republicans sat at home. If they had turned out she would have won.

The other issue they have is they have an incredibly unpopular president leading their party right now. That is when wave electionss happen and it likely will happen. He is almost 14 points underwater unless that changes that is blowout territory.

Orange man bad better go get Nikki Haley and fast. I sam sure she would just kill it is blue collar parts of Michigan. LOL!

Michigan: Storm Clouds from the Great Lake State Blueprint Polling surveyed Michigan voters February 1-4 in the second of its regular, public 2022 Election Battleground polls. For the last four presidential elections, the road to the White House went through Michigan. The 2022 midterms in the Wolverine state should be equally as exciting, with first term Governor Gretchen Whitmer on the ballot and congressional redistricting resulting in more competitive seats.
Trump Holds Current Lead in Presidential Rematch One month into the new year, Donald Trump is polling slightly ahead of President Biden, 40.4% - 38.2%,
with 13.4% of voters undecided and 8% saying they plan to support a third party candidate—a clear sign that many voters are unhappy with their likely options in the 2024 contest. Trump leads with both those who say they are definitely voting and those who are probably voting, with undecideds and third party choices growing to a combined 36.8% among probable voters. • Biden’s performance among African Americans is notably soft—some 37% say they are undecided or supporting a third party candidate at this time. • Trump holds a 4.9% lead among non-Hispanic White voters. • Trump leads by 4% among voters with a college degree. • Trump leads by 1% among those without a degree

Wow orange man bad strikes again he certainly destroyed the republican party. Everyone is bolting and running to biden!

You can credit Trump for Republicans sitting at home and not voting. Why would they vote when Trump spent so much time (falsely) claiming voter fraud in Georgia was why he didn’t win the state? The believers in that lie would obviously believe their votes wouldn’t matter in the runoff either.

I was just reading the following article about black voters leaving Biden. However, I don't think that necessarily translates into votes for Republicans. I would guess that a lot just won't vote.

Well this wasnt supposed to happen. They were supposed to embrace Joe's big government policies in droves.

Latinos have gravitated toward the Republican Party because of their belief in free-market capitalism, their opposition to big government, and their religious and cultural conservatism. Many appreciated the booming economy of the Trump years"

Well when you elect sombody base on two things nobody should not be surprised.

1. He did not shut down the virus.

2. Technially he does not send out mean tweets just dumb ones so I guess that part is ok. Not sure what else exactly people voted for him for he was clearly going to be far leftist. Anyone who bought in to the Joe is a moderate clearly did not listen to what he was saying about being progressive. We all now get to pay the price financially because of the no mean tweet voter crowd.

Joe Biden’s numbers are worse than any President in recent memory, to include Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter. That means Americans are basically saying collectively that they made a major mistake.

Red wave coming.

The Russians are coming?

Red wave coming.

As long as dems can keep convincing white suburban women tha wokism is cool they can still win elections. They just have to make sure these women understand wokism is a far great voting issue than inflation, crime, and open borders. Might be a tough sell with the current inflation numbers.

Democrats across the nation are embarrassed about the perception of the Democrat Party’s growing toxicity.

The Democrat Party, which has pushed wokism, open borders, police defunding, and coronavirus mandates is specifically struggling with rural voters throughout the nation. The struggles have been reported by the Associated Press and Politico in two articles over two days, alerting Democrat Party leaders of the impending doom come November’s midterm elections.

“The trend lines in rural America are very, very bad. … Now, the brand is so toxic that people who are Democrats, the ones left, aren’t fighting for the party,” former North Dakota Sen. Heidi Heitkamp told the AP.
“We’re letting Republicans use the language of the far left to define the Democratic Party, and we can’t do that,” she said about the Republicans, who by the Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee’s (DCCC) internal polling, are winning the culture war.

In rural Pennsylvania, a local voter Tim Holohan told the AP the grand dislike of Democrats is momentous. “The hatred for Democrats is just unbelievable,” said Holohan, who reportedly asked his daughter to remove a Joe Biden bumper sticker from her car. “I feel like we’re on the run.”

Rural and retiring Democrat from Tennessee, Rep. Jim Cooper (D-TN), told the AP he worries the Democrat Party is “facing extinction” in rural America. “It’s hard to sink lower than we are right now. You’re almost automatically a pariah in rural areas if you have a D after your name,” Cooper said.

The consensus from the DCCC indicates voters outside big cities are impacted by the Democrat policies of defunding the police and open borders. The DCCC report characterized the GOP’s messaging among voters as “alarmingly potent,” while Democrats were perceived as “preachy” and “judgmental,” Politico reported.

As a result, the AP characterized the alarming dilemma facing the Democrat Party as “threatening” as the 2022 midterm elections approach:

These Democrats are used to being outnumbered by the local Republican majority, but as their numbers continue to dwindle, the few that remain are feeling increasingly isolated and unwelcome in their own communities.

The AP also analyzed the nationwide county trend of just how bleak the Democrat future appears:

Barack Obama won 875 counties nationwide in his overwhelming 2008 victory. Twelve years later, Biden won only 527. The vast majority of those losses — 260 of the 348 counties — took place in rural counties, according to data compiled by The Associated Press.

The worst losses were concentrated in the Midwest: 21 rural counties in Michigan flipped from Obama in 2008 to Trump in 2020; Democrats lost 28 rural counties in Minnesota, 32 in Wisconsin and a whopping 45 in Iowa. At the same time, recent Republican voter registration gains in swing states like Florida and North Carolina were fueled disproportionately by rural voters.

Biden overcame rural losses to beat Trump in 2020 because of gains in more populous Democratic counties. Perhaps because of his victory, some Democratic officials worry that party leaders do not appreciate the severity of the threat.

The DCCC’s report echoed the AP’s analysis. It suggested Democrats should attempt to spin the results of Democrat policies to “correct the record” to reengage Democrats and Hispanics. The report warned that if the party speaks about off-topic agenda items, “changing the subject risks confirming suspicions.”

Democrats have seemingly taken the advice. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on Tuesday began confronting inflation, the number one issue among Americans. But instead of admitting Democrat policies have fueled rising cost of living, such as huge 2021 taxpayer spending, the Democrats will focus on more spending.

“We’re having lots of discussions with individual senators to get Build Back Better moving again,” Schumer said about his plans to reduce inflation. “We’re sitting down and discussing things with Senator Manchin, and we want to hear what he has to say.”

It’s unclear what the Democrats propose to reduce inflation besides spending more taxpayer money, flooding the economy with cash, and giving handouts via the costly Build Back Better package.

Polling indicates Biden is losing among the three “Cs” – crime, coronavirus, and cost of living – all topics Americans voters highly prioritize and will vote upon coming in November. Io generic ballot midterm polling, the GOP is averaging historic margins above Democrats.

30th Dem House retirement. D+4 Long Island seat, which could be in play for the GOP in a big wave.
But orange man bad bad bad . I was told by many message board people love the republican party but hate Trump and want him out.

The Republicans trail by about two points [in CA-13] while Trump lead and that is solely because Hispanics are running about four points weaker for generic Republicans then they would vote for Donald Trump. So they love the Trump message, but they’re not sure about his party yet.” -Richard Baris,

people don't change what they are for and against.

it's those controlling the parties that change, thus the parties they control with them.

the Dems controlled the house and senate almost every term for decade after decade because they backed the working guy over the rich.

that no longer is the case, because those who now control the DNC and their media arms don't back the working man first anymore, just as the Pubs haven't for far longer.

if the DNC wanted to control both the senate and house every term, they could.

but those who now own the DNC and their media don't care if Dems control the house or senate anymore, because they care about Wall St and the rich more, and they also control the RNC as well, so don't have to care anymore who wins the general elections.

only who wins the Dem primaries.

It is clear the dems are going to need the liberal suburban women more than ever now. They must keep telling these women being woke is the most important issue of all time and inflataion isjust a little bump in the road. LOL!

The NRCC today released the results of its most recent battleground survey, a deep dive on a key target group: Hispanic voters.

According to 2020 exit polls, Hispanic voters nationwide voted Democrat over Republican in congressional races by a wide margin (63%-36%). That advantage has been severely diminished. Hispanic voters are moving decisively away from Democrats.

Our survey found Republicans have made substantial gains among Hispanic voters in battleground districts, cutting the Democrat advantage on the generic congressional ballot to 44% Democrat – 37% Republican.

NRCC Chairman Tom Emmer said, “Republicans are making substantial gains with Hispanic voters because of our focus on economic issues such as the cost of gas and groceries. Republicans are fighting to protect the American Dream while Democrats are pushing a socialist agenda that threatens it.”

Key Takeaways:

  1. Hispanic voters in battleground districts are souring on the job Joe Biden is doing as President, and Speaker Pelosi is politically toxic.
  2. Hispanic voters in battleground districts are extremely concerned about inflation and parental involvement in education. They also say Republicans are better able to protect the American Dream.
  3. Republicans in Congress hold significant advantages over Democrats in Congress on the issues most important to Hispanic voters.
View the full polling memo here.

Oh boy!

Yesterday the DCCC’s internal polling on COVID, crime, spending and immigration leaked.

These are not typos.

66% of swing voters think Democrats in Congress have taken things too far in their pandemic response.

80% of swing voters in competitive districts agree that “Democrats in Congress support defunding the police and taking more cops off of the street.”

78% of swing voters in competitive districts agree that “Democrats in Congress have created a border crisis that allows illegal immigrants to enter the country without repercussions and grants them tax-payer funded benefits once here.”

Finally, 61% of swing district voters agreed with the statements, “Democrats in Congress are spending money out of control,” and, “Democrats are teaching kids as young as five Critical Race Theory, which teaches that America is a racist country and that white people are racist.”

NRCC Comment: “Voters know the truth about Democrats’ socialist agenda. Every vulnerable Democrat has a choice: retire or lose.” – NRCC Spokesman Mike Berg

I was just reading the following article about black voters leaving Biden. However, I don't think that necessarily translates into votes for Republicans. I would guess that a lot just won't vote.

Anybody who consciously makes the decision to stop voting for someone becomes a free agent. The are going to be more open to hearing the other side then when they are committed to a party. So the goal then becomes finding some points of agreement with those individuals and attempt to make inroads with them.

I think bailey posted several things that are the supposed goals of the GOP should they retake the House. The list seemed heavy on revenge to me, which I get. However, the best thing for the party would be to focus on solutions. I really understand wanting to nail Biden's ass to the wall because I do think he is corrupt, but that is never the outcomes of these investigations. It is a bunch of money spent for politicians to preen in front of the cameras.

They want to "own" the Biden's and the libs? Pass things that are universally popular and force him to say no. Put an immigration bill on his desk that locks up the border AND has a relevant plan for smart immigration going forward. Do some things legislatively that compel manufacturing of certain goods back from China.

At a certain point, both of these parties are going to have to run on something other than, "well we aren't those guys..."

Yeah, but to some I am on the wrong side of the values curve when I say all that stuff is batshit crazy and needs to stop.

When it comes to the "woke" bullshit, I truly believe there is a silent majority who is sick to death of it. The climate right now is that it is dangerous to take head on, so what is going to happen is a smile in the face and a knife in the back (metaphorically, I am not advocating true violence) to kill the ideology off.

There are a bunch of people out there who will smile and nod when the true believers bring this up in front of them but will vote to kill it behind closed doors.

This is still a center to center right country.

Yup. We're at an inflection point; so too is Biden. It'll be interesting to see how he responds. I still believe he will gravitate back to center as lefty lunacy continues to lose it's luster. The identity politics of statues and pronouns feel absurd in the face of rising crime, gas and grocery prices. The far left has been wrong at every turn. And yes I trust you are correct that there is a silent majority sick to death of the woke shit. It's at once whiny and preachy and paternalistic and you just want to shout F*UCKKKKKKK OFFFFFFFF.

It may be time for us to up our estimate from R+6-7 to R+8.
