I really like D Redding, but there are times I (like the announcers said Sat) would rather have JH in the game.
As long as JH is rested, on a sustained drive on 1st down, I think DR is in too much.

Also--on a sustained drive, like the one Sat at around the 20 or 15yd line in the 4th quarter, on first and ten. I would like to see JH in and with the opponent 99% looking run, throw a quick pass to TE. Our TE's were tremendous Saturday.
We should use them more.

Howard already has the 5th most carries in the nation. And that's because he only had 20 carries in game 1. If he keeps up the pace of the last 2 games, he might finish the season 1st in the nation in carries. Howard is in there enough

He ran 31 times and caught 3 passes last weekend. With about 250 years from scrimmage, that is a full day at the office.

I , on the other hand think JH needs to be rested more in order to have anything left at the end of the season.

I don't like resting him either but the WKU defense was physically worn down on that last drive and even though everyone in the stadium knew he was getting the ball they couldn't stop it. DR needs to get some snaps.

I think they'll probably need a 3rd guy pretty soon if they continue to run the ball this much. Too much pounding on one or even two guys.

Good point. Who would be the next guy in the rotation? Do we have someone or will it mean burning a redshirt.

Just curious, if you know, how does JH game time compare to the use
of star running backs in other programs? It would be interesting to see a
comparison of game time between JH and say the RB at OSU when
the offense is on the field.

Wilson rotated the two by series and they were successful. The Oline did a nice job and the backs ran and hit with authority. One back will always better than the other but hey need rest.

honestly....I think the Hoosiers need to get a third rb in their at some point soon getting more reps. howard is great...and a pounder...but he really shouldn't get more than 25-30 a game if ya want him to last...reddon is more of a speed back hes fine...but completely different...sort of the thunder and lighting thing msu had a few years back.

prob is if one gets even a little nicked up were in big trouble...as many plays as we run in a game someone has to be ready to step in and take some of the load...or were gonna have to change the offense completely should one get injured
