The guy goes out of his way to be objective and impartial. As an epidemiologist he is obviously going to err on the side of caution. At every turn he says that we don’t know what we don’t know.

I am constantly amazed that Trump's fans (on twitter and elsewhere) seem to just take at face value Trump's attempts to divorce himself from the concept of being among the "rich" or "elites" that he constantly rails against. The real paradox is that these same people won't even admit to themselves that one of the things they most admire about Trump IS the fact that he is rich. The mental gymnastics inherent in being pro-Trump are positively mind-boggling...

Trump doesn't understand that it is possible to deliver information that is non-partisan and objective. Sadly, this notion is reinforced in today's hyper-partisan environment.
The weirdest part of this is that I think that Trump misinterpreted what Fauci said. Fauci was asked about his statement realtime in the hearing and I thought he said he wasn't implying that schools should stay closed until a vaccine. Maybe I'm wrong on this.

Fauci also said that the death toll was likely underreported, particularly in NY where many died at home undiagnosed but he didn't have a feel for any percentages. That makes perfect sense.
Chris Hayes played that clip and then said that "Thousands and thousands and thousands" were not reported. This is what Trump reacts to...the partisan spin, not the truth of what was said. Trump is an idiot and Chris Hayes is simply a liar.
My understanding is that a posthumous test would most likely be done to determine not only cause of death but +\- for Covid
I really wanted to argue what Hayes said, and how it might be legit, etc, etc, etc... but then I realized I'd have to defend Chris Hayes. Nope.
