Laura Ingraham on Fox news interview Donald Trump Monday night. Joe Biden is being controlled like a puppet by certain people on the street that Laura Ingraham does not know. Also somebody got on a plane in a certain city on a certain Airline and it was filled with thugs dressed in black. They were wearing all sorts of gear. The implication was that they were going to attack Washington.

Trump has gone off the deep end. This is not political banter. This is crazy talk. I'm doing this on my phone and don't have the ability to post the link.

He's also claimed Portland is 'ablaze'.

Despite the Portland mayor, fire officials and eye witnesses saying otherwise, his stupid - and I do mean stupid - followers buy it hook, line and sinker.

For clarification purposes, I should note that everyone mentioned above does acknowledge that there has been some violence and destruction of property and that it should be reigned in. No one is denying that. All that said, it's all happening within a city block and it's not the total armageddon that Trump would have you believe.

From Heather Cox Richardson's August 31 update:

This afternoon, Trump claimed that Portland, Oregon “is ablaze.” Josh Campbell, a CNN law enforcement correspondent on the ground in Portland and a former FBI supervisory special agent, called this "a lie."

Campbell told CNN: "Portland is not a city under siege. Today, I went to a Starbucks downtown, ate lunch at one of the city's famous downtown food trucks, and bought a new pair of shoes at the mall. As I write this, I'm looking out of my hotel room at a bike tour riding by outside on the downtown street…. To be sure, there have been protests -- peaceful during the daytime, and some turning violent at night -- for over 90 days, but the rioting has largely been confined to one city block downtown near the federal courthouse. Last night, protesters showed up at a police precinct a few miles from downtown and were dispersed by police after some protesters started throwing eggs and rocks at police cars. There has been periodic, localized violence, but nothing widespread."

Portland firefighter Lt. Rich Chatman agreed: “WE ARE NOT ABLAZE IN PORTLAND,” he texted to CNN reporter Daniel Dale. “There is a very isolated pocket of demonstrations that have involved fire… none of which have been substantial enough to need more than 1 fire engine.”

I'm sure you are going to hear about the CNN bias.
That being said, about 5 weeks ago (not sure), I linked a story from the Portland newspaper during the first big protests. The story focused on the fact that, while there was some damage, it was centralized, and was hardly a city under siege. The story included wide angle shots of streets and parks downtown, where people were walking, jogging, riding bikes, while others enjoyed outdoor dining. The focus of that story was that rioters needed to be dealt with, and property damage was wrong, but to characterize the situation as a city resembling a war zone was false.

I don't think people realize in Portland at least the whole protest area where stuff has been going on is just few blocks in the city.

And don’t forget comparing the police officer killing a man as choking on a golf putt. Laura tried to stop him.

I hope you are all sitting down. Trump was lying about this. Yes, I know. He got this story from a months old FB conspiracy.

This is where I remind you that this man is the POTUS.

An old friend of mine who lives in Portland has described the situation as "things get salty downtown at night."

Of course this is the same guy I once saw carry a full keg of beer (half barrel) on his chest as he ran, full speed, up four flights of stairs to our dorm room. So I suppose a "salty" situation to him might be perceived entirely different by most others.

Trump has no credibility. He is a stupid liar. Time for the country to move on!

Let me guess- You think that is solely a function of the Left, right?

This is from LAST summer when the Proud Boys attacked Antifa while various people were sitting outside in a beer garden of local brewery Cider Riot. The people on the inside of the restaurant property were locals- the Proud Boys were outside agitators in town to conduct mischief. Members of the Proud Boys were indicted and sued by the business establishment...

You found a bunch of articles saying that the Portland mayor is moving.

Unless he is some sort of character out of a Matrix movie and simultaneously lives in multiple places all over the city, this doesn't contradict the fact that the city itself isn't 'a blaze' and that any violence is concentrated in a block or two.

LOL, you mean the mayor that just announced he's being forced to move because of protests and vandalism to his condo building?

In an email Tuesday from Wheeler to other residents of the 16-floor high-rise tower, the mayor said it would be “best for me and for everyone else’s safety and peace” that he finds a new home. He assured people that police are taking their safety concerns seriously and invited them to a Thursday evening meeting that will include himself and officers to voice their concerns.

“I want to express my sincere apologies for the damage to our home and the fear that you are experiencing due to my position,” according to a screenshot of the email sent to The Oregonian/OregonLive. “It’s unfair to all of you who have no role in politics or in my administration.”

This made up conspiracy from social media from months ago is also be peddled by the Attorney General. If you haven’t watched this Blitzer interview, you should. Barr showed exactly why he’s the more dangerous political actor of our times. He is trying to burn the country down.

Are you that dense? Really?

No one is denying that violence and vandalism has occurred. There is a HUGE (or YUUUGGGGE in the parlance of our times) chasm between 'Portland is ablaze' and some protests have turned violent in a block or two of the downtown area.

Nothing you have posted refuted that claim. I don't know where the mayor lives specifically, but my guess is that he's within the affected area. I actually can't believe I had to spend a minute or so explaining that.

Trump is definitely stupid, as are his voters, but Trump is an exceptional liar. An extremely effective liar. Probably the best liar, ever, some say. Trump could tell you the biggest, most beautiful lies you’ve ever heard.
And he tells them very strongly.

I am going on record that I don’t like this post! They can call us Trump supporters what ever, but we can’t call Libtards, Libtards!

hopefully the person who brought a dog is beaten to death

Antifa nationwide is probably 8 random dudes

No, there's probably about 198,000,000 anti-fascists in the US. And there are without doubt those in the riots and protests who identify as being anti fascist and may even call themselves such.

But as far as a leftist communist socialist anarchist military group (antifa is none of those things) reimagined, recreated and redefined by the Trump/Russian/Iranian/Chinese//Saudi propaganda machine to stoke fear and terror in old fat white men and their unhappy wives who hate life.... that's pure bullshit.

Just like terrorists hiding in caravans .. remember those?

.

Lol. I had to google that

Really? I just made the term up as I posted it. I figured the opposite of anti-fascists would be pro-fascists.
In a similar vein, I am convinced that a bunch of friends and I made up the term "TMI", as we were saying it years before I ever saw it in media. We had a habit of turning phrases into acronyms.

I know, I know...STFU. 🙁

The AA Portland police chief hasn't gotten the memo. He is quoted in the articles as saying "This is impacting the safety of our entire city, and urgent action is needed".

Also: "We have seen arson at occupied police precincts as well as at the office which is tucked into a residential area".
