trump canceled his Jan 6 press conference

bunch of bullshit, Lucy took off work
Sorry to burst your bubble on your Super Bowl Sunday and please do not tell me she took off work for that? But never fear she can turn on CNN it will be wall to wall 24/7 coverage for the next three days. Very smart move by Trump to cancel this as the villian of the left now is not front and center for the Lucy's of the world to lose their minds over tomorrow. Instead CNN will handle that while americans worry about things like the border and inflation.

Trump Cancels January 6 News Conference" Good and sensible news. Public can concentrate their minds on Omicron and inflation and see the Dems/MSM ignoring their fears with 1/6 for 24/7. Not giving MSM hate figure to distract voters is good Trump may have better advisors now

Donald Trump Just Rained on the Democrats' January 6th Parade

By Bonchie | Jan 04, 2022 7:15 PM ET
Yet, Democrats were also banking on another happening to bolster their January 6th spectacle. Donald Trump had a press conference scheduled at Mar-a-Lago on the same day, and there’s little doubt what the content of the discussion would have included. Yet, he’s now abruptly canceled it in a move that is going to leave no one upset except Democrats, who hoped to make political hay out of it.

This per The Hill.

To be frank, there was nothing helpful that was going to come from Trump spending January 6th talking about 2020 election fraud. No matter what you feel about the topic, that contrast would work against him (and all Republicans) on a day where every major media outlet will be blasting out videos and “analysis” of the Capitol breach. It would have simply super-charged the Democrat narrative and played right into their hands. In fact, members of the January 6th committee were already gearing up to use Trump’s presser as proof of their case that he incited violence. They desperately wanted Trump to hand them more fodder and lash out.

It seems like Trump realized that, as he cites the machinations of the January 6th committee as the reason for his cancelation. Whatever the reason, it’s a smart move on his part to deny them the viral clips and talking points they were banking on. I’m sure he and his advisers sat down and figured out what the game was here and chose not to play along

He's still getting plenty of bad advice, but probably finally had the sense to listen to his lawyers.

"The plans for a Mar-a-Lago press conference had been panned as politically ill-conceived, with one former advisor pointing to it as evidence he is getting 'terrible advice' from his inner circle."

He should have listened to Hannity a year ago, who advised that Trump should just shut the f*ck up about the election he lost:

Hannity text to Meadows and Jordan, January 2021: "He (Trump) can't mention the election again. Ever."

Start with this:

LOL it has nothing to do with inflation per Joe!

President Joe Biden expressed shock on Monday that the cost of ground beef was so high, blaming consolidation in the meat market among the top processors.

The president recalled a conversation he overheard between his wife, first lady Jill Biden, and a friend, while he was sitting in the kitchen at home.

Trump should just go back to hosting Family Feud; he was in every way a game show president without regard to anything but his "beautiful, beautiful" ratings

FWIW, here is Trump's statement about cancelling his press conference. This is a good decision by him, but not for the reasons he and his MAGA crowd think. Nothing good would have come of anything he said. He had time to think and edit this release and it still sounds like it came from a pouty teenager.

As someone mentioned above, he should have taken the advice Hannity and his Fox News advising/intel team game him.

Yep but he did not and nothing can be done about that now. It really has not hurt him in the least basically ever metric shows he would trounce Biden or Harris in 2024. Not being on twitter has helped him alot as well and of course dems fixation on 01/06 instead of real issues only pushes independents even further away from the dems. Despite what many on the twitter and the left think the average american really does not care about 01/016 all that much and is much more worried about things like inflation and high crime.

Above, you called Trump "the villain of the left," but he's actually "the villain of the right" as well.

Countless frightened Republicans are happy Trump canceled that press conference. Privately, many of them don't want anything to do with him, but they don't know how to distance themselves publicly from Trump (or his Capitol vandals/rioters/tourists either). Most real Republicans have trouble making themselves believe that the Jan. 6 rioters were really just tourists (as their party leaders claim).

There was a tiny sign of sanity recently when 100% unphilanthropic "Melania's Vision" went on the market, apparently to make fortunes only for Melania. It made me wonder if there's any way Trump could ever get her to move back into the White House if (1) he runs in 2024, and (2) he wins.

The following is not the artwork "Melania's Eyes", but it does show Melania's real eyes. She ain't no little girl model any more, and it never seemed like she wanted anything to do with the White House or politics during Trump's term.

2c1abad6c439528fc262736390a4d213

Would you want to be the 75+ year old fat ass
to tell her you're running for President again in 2024 and you want her to (1) campaign with you and then (2) live with you barricaded in the White House?

It's possible for people to focus on more than one thing.

But as long as Trump continues to suggest he may run in 2024, the Jan 6 attack on the Capitol he initiated should also be discussed. Similarly for all those GOP members seeking re-election who have since downplayed what we all saw on television.

You wrote, Trump "probably finally had the sense to listen to his lawyers."

Wow. Trump's lawyers have given him such
stupid advice that one (Giuliani) has had his law license jeopardized and several others have been held responsible for their opponent's attorney fees.

Trump would have been better off if he had received his legal advice from a dead stick.

As much as you'd like to trivialize 1/6, wish it away, and/or quickly pivot to Biden (and I do not dispute that his presidency so far has been an absolute mess), January 6 will forever define the conman from Queens.

No, he didn't listen to anyone. He realized he wasn't going to get the live coverage he expected. Read the conversation.

For fun explain the reason to shut down Keystone pipeline and taking sanctions off Russian pipeline?

Should Biden be held to the standard he set for Trump on deaths due to Covid?

Biden may go down as the second worst president in American history but he at least believes in the Constitution and the rule of law unlike the all-time worst president who proceeded him.

I saw Jamie Raskin, the house impeachment manager, a couple of nights ago talking about taking a silent vote to impeach Trump and he said if that could have been done Trump would have been impeached but the senators knew they could not hide behind that type of vote. Trumps a bum.

Sounds like mr unity is going to come out filled with rage tomorrow. I would expect nothing less from this senile old fool. All he knows is division and its all he has.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki previewed the speech for reporters at the White House on Wednesday, noting that Biden believed that Trump had “singular responsibility” for the riots on that day and would call him out directly

about 33 percent of the country would hate Biden no matter what he does, how do you unify them? Trump was the reason for the failed coup, anyone who can't see that is blind or ignorant

The more I read you, the more I'm convinced you're a troll account, maybe another incarnation of Lucy. It's as if you've taken the worst of every pro-Trumper that's ever posted here and tried to deliberately post outlandishly moronic rantings to mock being a stupid wingnut...

If you're going the Lucy route and trying to present yourself as a wingnut, to show us all how outrageously ridiculous wingnuts are-get a new schtick. We've already got Lucy, and one class clownish poster deliberately trying to make right wingers look stupid is enough. Mas doesn't count-he believes his own nonsense...

Fine...you don't like Biden. But Trump is far bigger scumbag. All these rape accusers aren't just making it up. He's shown his lack of respect for women backstage at pageants, his horrible comments to Billy Bush, cheating on every wife, paying off porn stars, hanging with Epstein, etc.

Then his failed businesses that left many small contractors unpaid. The list goes on. Draft dodger, narcissist, running with daddy's money and acting like he hit a homerun. Literally every trait we would hate in most men.

Hell, I don't think much of Biden as President. But how do you call Biden a scumbag and ignore Trump's transgressions. Please answer seriously. How are you so blind?
